Vincent Dean Pt. 1

I woke up the next morning to my phone buzzing. Even without my glasses on, I could make out the name "Alex". I waited for about a minute and opened the message.

A.M.- Any luck?

C.N.- No. The guy was smart. Covered up the camera. I replied.

A.M.- What was the time on that?

C.N.- Around 10 PM.

A.M.- So that was when I was still at school.

C.N.- Yep.

A.M- Okay. Who do you think it was?

C.N.- Either Scott, Vincent, or Randall. They weren't at the meeting.

A.M.- I'll head over. See you then.

I shut my phone off and tried to comprehend the situation again. 3 members we now couldn't trust. Just the fact that we even had a traitor still angered me.

Mayhem showed up at the safehouse within the next hour. I had showered and drank my one of 4 cups of coffee for the day. I heard his truck pull up, and I left my room at the safe house. I opened the door for him, and I greeted him.

"Good god, man. You look like you haven't slept for weeks." Great greeting words from him.

"Yeah, well it sure feels like it." I motioned for him to come inside.

"So. Who was murdered last night?" He smiled, looking at the blood and computer parts on the floor. Mayhem always made jokes like this.

"Funny," I said.

"I'm just kidding, man. Where is the footage? We can use a different laptop."

We loaded the flash drive onto the spare computer and watched the whole thing again. Mayhem skipped back five times and kept shaking his head. He shut the screen and held his head in his hands. I watched as he took long, deep breaths.

"Who else could have known about this… You and I were the only two who knew. I know I didn't tell anyone, and I also know you didn't tell anyone." Mayhem was a trustworthy person. He put all his trust in me, so I did likewise. He didn't say anything for a few moments and then stood up. "There's nothing else we can do for now."

"No, there has to be. We can't just stop on this subject, Alex." I said, angrily. He always made me the angriest when he procrastinated. "We aren't going to get an answer here. We need to take this to other places."

"Then let's go."

First suspect- Vincent Dean

Vincent Dean was a medium-height 15-year-old, the youngest of us all. He first joined us in the year of 2019, the year most of them joined. Vincent was always an odd one. He loved getting others in trouble. He would fake having to use the bathroom at school just so he could catch others vaping. He was kicked off the student council in 2018 for a violent outburst, yet he remained the same type of person all these years.

Vincent was always our inside man. He had a way with manipulation, which was something he could also use against us perfectly well. That's what made him a prime suspect. Vincent lived in a small area of The Fort, only about 3 minutes away from the safehouse if you drove. This was something else. He was close to the safehouse, how easy for him would it be to just drop by one night? The answer is very. Yet, we had always pledged to trust each other. But this time, Mayhem and I were on to something, and we were about to break the very rules that we created.
