The sound of silence.

"K! Don't you have something to say". Kahlan's mind was jolted awake, and she couldn't help but frown. Seeing it was her father hurriedly answered in a small voice" ummm...no dad". "What?!" Kahlan's dad shouted " where the hell is your mind, you make me sick. You are so lost, can't you see your siblings! Can't you learn from them?" Mr Cypher hissed harshly. Kahlan bowed her head in shame and silently received the criticizing gazes. "What does she even think, how can her mind wander off at such an occasion"

"She's just something else" another said harshly. Kahlan's eyes stung with tears but she bit her lips and fought back the tears. She slowly rose from her seat and walked away from the crowd.

Kahlan walked till she got to the Cypher's family garden and sat on the ground looking at the sky. She loved the peace and quiet, she wanted to be like this forever, she sniffed as tears slid from her eyes. 'No one understands me' she thought. Kahlan had always loved being in her little world, imagining and creating things in her head. They thought she was dumb and stupid and she started believing she was. Her brother was one of the best software engineers, and her mom and dad gloated about him. Her elder sister a straight A student in the college of medicine country k. Her little sister an exceptional talent in business administration and networking. It was even her little sister's graduation after that being held at that moment.

'What on Earth am I good at' she cried choking in-between sobs.
