"What if she doesn't keep the pregnancy boss, i don't think she would want to" said the injured subordinate confused.

"Then, we make her keep it" answered Leo in agitation.

What? How?

The injured subordinate turned to look at his colleague, with a big question mark on his head.

While the other subordinate raised a brow, ignoring his colleague.

"Okay that would be all...Go make preparations" he said waving his hand tiredly.

He was really tired.

"Yes boss" they both answered leaving the study room.

The injured subordinate had unanswered questions in his heart but he dared not ask.

The study room became silent as Leo massaged the area between his brows.

He was truly stressed from all the events happening lately.

His family issues, company's internal strives and then Maya's health condition. it took a toll on him a lot.

As he was deep in thought, the sound of his phone ringing broke the silence in his study room.

He picked up his phone, on seeing the caller his lips curled up, his eyes holding a hint of gentleness as he immediately answered.

"Hello Maya" he called out in a deep voice.

"Leo" Maya's coquettish voiced sounded tickling his heart.

"am i disturbing your work? Did i call at the wrong time?" Maya asked worriedly.

Leo smiled, he could deduce the concern in her voice.

That was his Maya, his woman. So kindhearted and warm.

"It's fine Maya, how are you doing?"

Mia seemed to have heaved an inaudible sigh of relief making Leo chuckle.

"I'm better Leo, i just missed you and wanted to talk to you" Maya said shy.

"I'm sorry for not calling recently, i have been busy but you know? If you take your drugs regularly, i promise to come see you"

"Really? that would be great" exclaimed Maya excited.

"Yes darling, I promise" said Leo indulging her.

Leo laughed gently enjoying the sound of her voice.

"Leo" Maya suddenly called out after keeping quiet for a while.

"Hmmm?"

"Ummm ... how is my sister?" said Maya in a shaky voice that looked like she was about to cry.

Leo sighed helplessly, "Do you still feel guilty?" What should he do with this kindhearted fiancee of his. She was too nice that he wondered if she could hurt a fly. (Well that's your opinion of her!)

Sniffing, Maya replied, "of...of course...of course I feel guilty. Sister has nothing to do with my illness, yet...yet she has to suffer because of me" she broke out in sobs.

If kahlan had seen this, she would have pinched her laps till she was sure she was awake.

Maya saw her as ant, an unqualified person that shouldn't even breathe in the same air she's breathing.

Yet, she just called her sister? Her view of the world would definitely change.

"Do you want to die then" said Leo.

Maya choked on her sobs.

of course she didn't want to die! Who wants to die!!...

but she was Maya, she is nothing more than a scheming fox who knows how to play her cards well. It was a trait she got from her mother.

"If dieing will make everyone, especially you Leo live peacefully, then...then i accept my fate" her voice sounded unwilling yet determined making Leo's heart melt like wax.

"It's enough Maya, don't talk about dieing anymore. As long as I'm here, i will make sure nothing happens to you trust me."

"As for your sister, we will make it up to her somehow. By the way, you keep worrying about her... aren't you bothered with the fact that your fiance will be sleeping with her?" he suddenly asked out of nowhere making Maya scowl.

She immediately recollected herself and asked pretending to be surprised. "You will sleep with her? but... but" said Maya acting nervous.

"Maya but what? are you unwilling?" Leo teased Maya laughing out loud.

"I... It's not like that Leo, i didn't know you would be sleeping with her." she paused appearing to be struggling with her words before she continued

"My sister, she didn't live a good life when she was here and attracted all kinds of bees and butterflies. She scurried around with them and even..."

Maya purposely didn't finish her statement and let Leo's mind wander finishing her statement for her.

"Remember the reason mom and dad had to send her away. Who knows if that evil man that deceived sister into wanting to elope with him was lurking around somewhere." she sighed before saying again.

"It was really hard for us to send her away, but we had to. It was for her own good, to get a fresh start. Leo, although Kahlan is my sister... I don't want you to suffer any..." Maya didn't finish her words again. As if the words she wanted to say was too dirty.

as if her upbringing didn't allow her to say such words.
