"Will you shut up!" Mr. Cypher said in a high voice. "You! Shut up!" The old man hit his palm on the table " father!" Mr Cypher's chest heaved up an down like an angry beast. "How do you know, did you hear her own side of the story...or you just believed that cat! Kay, come here. Tell Grandpa what happened" Kahlan immediately ran into her grandfather's arms wailing " grandpa it's not true! Phony insulted my mother*sob* she said mother is a promiscuous hen, she called mother a sl*t."

Phony threw her mom an accusatory glance, her mother told her to appear like this to evoke the old man's pity.

"I hear you insulted Kahlan's mother" the old man spoke up in disgust. "Is that what elder sister told you? Elder sister I have always cared about you...how could you do this...how" "Enough! Save your tears! Did you do it or not" " no I did not grandpa, I never insulted Kahlan's mother" she said bowing her head and letting tears fall freely. Kahlan was stunned, 'how can she lie so easily' "father I raised Phony, she would never do that" Mrs Cypher had to step in to help her daughter. "No one asked for your opinion" the old man fired choking Mrs Cypher, her next words were stuck in her throat. "Were there witness, get them" Mrs Cypher smiled kindly like a righteous woman "Yes father, there was a witness, the maid that informed me about the incident at the backyard" the old master had a bad feeling "get her!"
