Mrs. Hui

Music blasted in the ballroom, but it failed to divert the guests' attention. Ongoing chatters between socialites overpowered the sounds being played. While guests walked back and forth from one group to the next, the party speaker held the microphone in his hand and spoke loudly to get their attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen, can I have all your attention for a moment? Our host for the night, Mister Hui, is about to make his speech. Please take a moment to return to your assigned seats. You may resume your discussions after the toast. Thank you."

A few minutes later, everyone's concentration fixated at the stage where the spotlight directed on Jason. He had a confident, joyful smile as he reached out to retrieve the microphone from the speaker. Politely, his back straightened and eyes wandered across the crowded tables. He brought the mic a few centimeters from his lips and began presenting his speech.

"Good evening, everyone. I hope every one of you is enjoying the event as much as I appreciate catering it. It is my honor to be standing here tonight, as the CEO of Hui Corps, to announce the completion for the ZRA project. It has been a tough road, but we made it. Thank you for every one of you who remained faithful and trusting in Hui Corps."

"Undeniably, without the help of all of you, Hui Corps wouldn't have gotten this far. We wouldn't have achieved what we've done without your assistance. So, thank you. Thank you for sticking through during the highs and the lows. I deeply appreciate your help."

Many investors and employees looked proud as they heard his appreciative words. While guests smiled and focused their attention on Jason, Trang's line of sight was directed towards Selina. Since the beginning of his speech, Jason's eyes have scanned through the crowd searching for her. Her knuckles turned white as she watched the lovebirds stare back and forth at each other.

Continuing his speech, Jason began presenting slideshows of the production results in the back. He briefly explained the motto of the project and the struggles he faced when artists' left Hui Corps in the middle of it.

With his eyes gazing affectionately at his wife, he smiled. "Of all the staffs and investors, there is one person I must thank personally. Under a short period of time, she sketched, designed and created every piece of the amazing works shown in the slideshow. During the tight schedule, she remained positive and encouraged me to continue with the project."

"Without her, there would not be the results we see today. Therefore, let's..." He walked off the stage with everyone's gaze trailing after him. Selina's lips parted when she realized what he wanted to do. With a smirk, he extended his hand as if he was asking her for permission.

Once her hand was placed in his palm, his fingers wrapped tightly around hers. He helped her get up from her seat and led her to the stage. "Let's give a round of applause to Selina Clover!"

Jason loosened his hand from hers for a few minutes as he placed the mic back on the microphone stand. Then, a waiter appeared with a glass of red wine and handed it to him. Since Selina already had a drink in her hand, she didn't need one. Hence, the waiter only carried one drink.

Raising the glass in his hand, the clapping sounds gradually decreased. Jason looked at Selina and linked their hands once again. "I've been wondering when it would be a good time for me to introduce her to all of you. Since we're all gathered here tonight to celebrate the completion of the event, I believe it is the best timing to announce our relationship."

"This beautiful lady standing right beside me right now is not only the artist who created the outstanding works I've shown. She is also my lovely wife, whom I love dearly. Though we haven't sent out invitations for our wedding yet, we're already husband and wife by law. This is the second piece of news that I wished to announce tonight!"

Before the audience could react to the shocking announcement, Jason carried on with his speech. "Lastly, I would like to dedicate a special gift to my wife." Affectionately gazing into her eyes, Jason snapped his fingers. A lawyer walked up to the stage and waited for Jason to finish speaking.

"From this moment onwards, Selina Clover will be the owner of Sin Corps. I want to clarify one point to everyone. I am asking my wife to be the CEO of Sin Corps not because she is my wife. It is because she can and has the ability to be a great leader. Without her help, Sin Corps would've been long gone from the industry. So, I've bought it just for her."

"Whether she chooses to accept or decline this role, it is solely her choice. Whether she wants to accept and destroy the entire corporation or make it shine brightly in the future, that is also her choice. I will fully respect her decision. Now, for the anticipated response from my beautiful partner. Mrs. Hui, what do you say?" Jason reached out for her hand and caressed the back of it with his thumb.

The lawyer unfolded the document in his hand, uncapped the pen and stepped forward politely.

Taken aback by the surprising gift he prepared, Selina's lips were left agape. Feeling the warmth of his thumb against her skin, she looked at the document in the lawyer's hand. Sucking in a deep breath, a joyful smile curved on her lips. She walked up to Jason, leaving less than an inch between their feet. "I accept." Under many pairs of eyes, she scribbled her signature on the document and watched the lawyer exit the stage.

Jason pulled Selina into a light hug on stage. Facing the crowd, he lifted the glass in his hand and asked for a toast. Following his actions, everyone drank the content from their glass. Before drinking the liquid, Jason clanged it against Selina's glass.

Earlier, Selina ate a few pieces of fried crab, which made her thirsty. She wanted to take a sip of the raspberry juice, but Jason interrupted. Now that she could finally get a drink, she chugged the content down her throat until it was empty.
