The press conference ended shortly after Peter read the words about his resignation to his audience. Under the media reporters and former staff's eyes, Peter bowed respectfully before walking away. Securities held everyone back from chasing after him, giving him an easier way out of the crowd.
Since Peter has met the end of his career, Selina had no other business to stay here. She stepped aside as the security guards dissolve the crowd. At the same time, the Hui couple reminded Jason about his important meeting at Hui Corps. He nodded, looked down at the petite figure in his arms, and waited for the streets to clear up before letting her go.
All along, he blocked her from the strangers passing by their side. With the thought of leaving her and Celinda alone with the bodyguards, he frowned. If it was regular days, he would definitely kidnap her to his office and enjoy working with her accompany, but today was different.
Selina noticed the unwillingness on his face to part from her and tilted the corners of her lips upwards. She whispered, "I'll wait for you at home. Deal with your work. I'll make your favorite dishes for dinner."
"I'll have Aaron drive you and Celinda back home. With him and the bodyguards in two other vehicles following along, I'll feel more at ease." He nodded and reluctantly loosened his arms around her. Since he had to meet the Clover family this afternoon, the rest of his schedule was cleared up. Hence, Aaron was free for the rest of the afternoon.
Jason and his parents walked Celinda and Selina to Aaron's car. They waited until the vehicles were out of sight before heading to his car. All of them have unknowingly fallen into Shirley's trap for them.
The minute Peter exited the company's back door and stepped out of the alleyway; he was dragged into Shirley's car. Once again, she has convinced him with her ill-intentioned words. With persuasive words about the possibilities of him recovering his CEO position, once Selina regains her memories, Shirley managed to brainwash him with her fake advice.
They knew Jason wouldn't leave Selina alone easily. As expected, two black Bentley Mulsanne cars followed closely behind the silver BMW and headed towards the highway.
Shirley was on a continuous call with Justin's underlings who were sent on this mission to assist her. She questioned, "Cleared?"
"Cleared." The man responded to her question.
"Proceed." She said with a grim-reaper smirk, matching her eagle-sharp eyes.
As per her instructions, there will only be one route these three vehicles could take to exit the highway, which to her, would soon become their graves.
In twenty minutes, Aaron has driven a distance from the city and was supposed to make a left to take the usual route to Jason's villa. Unfortunately, all cars were stuck in place due to a major accident, and the routes were now closed.
"I am taking a farther route this time because there seems to be a huge accident. The safety officer was redirecting the routes to this one." He explained to the girls in the backseat, who were talking about what desserts to make for dinner.
Few minutes after he made the turn into the redirected route, a deafening screech resounded from the distance - metal scraping against metal sharply scratched echoes into their ears. Behind his car, two vehicles have collided into one another from the side, leaving one severely damaged. Quickly observing from the rear mirror, he saw the second Bentley Mulsanne engulfed by raging flames with no possibilities of any survivors.
Before the vehicle exploded, the perpetrator could be seen crashing their car into it again; shoving the vehicle out of their way! Not only was this strangely set up, Aaron noticed the empty roads ahead. As he connected a call to warn the other bodyguards, he heard them scream in full alertness.
"Go full speed. We'll block their path. There are three more cars behind us! We've informed the boss!" One of the bodyguards reported before another piercingly scrapes echoed into the call, disconnecting the call.
Celinda and Selina wanted to turn back to see what was wrong, but Aaron stopped them. "Buckle your seat belts and do not look behind. We're being tailed, and I'm going full speed. Hold on tight to each other. Selina, call Jason and put him on the speaker!"
As soon as he heard the sound of their buckled belts, he stepped on the gas, racing away from the vehicles behind. Not long after he raced down the path, he heard a resounding crash from behind. A fire broke out on the back of the Bentley Mulsanne making it swerve, out of control; heading towards their direction.
Jason's voice was on speaker mode as the girls were left terrified by what they've heard. Aaron briefly explained where they were heading towards and the route they took. Jason was on the phone even when he gave instructions to his special team to hurry to their rescue. He was also on his way to them.
"Listen up, the person's license plate is JW56S7M. We're reaching exit 25 soon and I need to slow..." Aaron's voice trailed off when he realized how screwed they were.
Aaron's hands frantically gripped the steering wheel as he pressured on the brakes, hoping it could help them make a successful U-turn escape. It was then, that he realized, the brakes were cut!
"The brakes aren't working! The other Bentley Mulsanne is out of control and is getting closer to my car." He growled angrily with veins appearing on his temples. If they somehow survive this, then he will destroy those bastards with his hands.
Fortunately, the bodyguard driving the Bentley Mulsanne was still conscious enough to take a sharp turn before the vehicle collided against his BMW. Moments before the Bentley Musanne crashed into a wall, Aaron caught a glimpse of the driver's bloody smile. The dark bump on his forehead looked as if it was about to burst.
Then, the crash happened. A piece of metal dismantled from the front part of the car, penetrating through the glass and into the bodyguard's face; disfiguring him. It vandalized his face. Smoke billowed from the engine and green fluid sizzle on the ground as Aaron drove past the crash scene.
Looking around attentively, he found only three chances to save their lives, and that was to use the pile of materials on the side to slow their speed. When the movement slows down, they must jump out of the car to survive. But if they miss these opportunities, then the chances of survival are below slim.
"When I tell you two to get ready, both of you need to unbuckle your seat belts and prepare to jump out of the car. I will tell you when to jump after that. We only have three tries. Understand?"
The girls were in shock, but his voice snapped them back to reality. They intertwined one of their hands together while the other hand was ready to release the seat belt. "Yes."
