Flame shifted in his cage and crossed his arms. "Your not the only one on sale you know. Never say never scar." His tone was light and playful some how this boy still seemed to be in good spirits. He had become one of the few things to help her get through the days.
Footsteps trudged over angrily and soon the figure of the owner was right in front of them. "You two just don't listen do you? How many times do I need to tell you to shut up and sit quietly!" He boomed. His eyes then glazed over with rage, as he called over his two henchmen. The cage doors were thrown open and each of the larger men reached in. Cold hands wrapped around scars ankles as she was snatched from her cage.
She began to scream when she looked over and saw they grabbed flame too. The vampires carried them back towards the basement. Since her eyes had already adjusted to the brighter lights the basement felt dark and foreboding. Another cell was opened although unlike the rest of the cells this one stank of death, blood, and urine.
Tossed onto the cold brick floor the owner began talking. "If you could've just been a good little girl none of this would've had to have happened. You just don't listen." He said as a sick smile took over his lips.
The owner of the shop stepped forward, his fangs glistening ominously. He raised a hand, and without warning, struck the girl across the face with a vicious backhand, sending her sprawling on the ground. The room reverberated with a sickening thud as she collided with the cold, unforgiving floor. Blood trickled from a split lip as she struggled to regain her composure.
The other vampires closed in, encircling her like predators closing in on their prey. One of them lunged forward, delivering a series of savage kicks to her ribs, each impact resonating with bone-crunching force. She cried out in agony, her body wracked with pain. The vampires showed no mercy, reveling in her suffering, their laughter echoing through the chamber like a macabre symphony.
As the onslaught continued, the girl's strength waned, and her spirit flickered like a dying flame. Each blow inflicted upon her was met with a defiance that refused to be extinguished. Yet, in that grim moment, hope seemed a distant memory as she bore the relentless torment of these sinister beings.
Now they left her lying on the floor as they took the boy and put him in shackles that dangled from the ceiling. He wasn't tall enough to be able to touch the ground so he hung suspended from his wrists. One of the vampires walked over to a table filled with painful looking devices and picked up a torch. He carried it towards the boy and one of the other brutes lifted his feet.
Flames head began to shake vigorously. "No no no no please!" He said fear coating his pleas. His begging got him no where as the vampire fired up the torch and began to burn the soles of his feet. The skin turning disgusting colors. The sound of goop hitting the ground and blood curdling screams filled the room. Scar began to tear up watching this. Her own injuries also began to throb harder and harder.
Slowly the cell around her began to fade to black. The screams of pain began to give way to a ringing. She watched as the vampires brutalized Flame. The last thing she saw was them gripping one of his fingers, and ripping it clean off. Blood spurted from the wound leaving one hot drop to fall on her cheek.
