CHAPTER 19

Julia settles down in her new office as the next head director of Lorenzo designs, She mentally coached herself on how she would behave on Monday.

"One, come early next week and deliver a smashing presentation to the board members, Two, meet Mrs Elena and ask her questions about being a good leader, Three, see Miss Linda and talk about the development of your fashion ideas... "

She rehearsed in her mind how she would present her collection of female wears, she had designed months ago. She got up to arrange some of the dresses she made last month.

Just then, her phone rang, she opened her purse and looked at her phone screen, it was Dante' calling, she picked it up and said.

" Hello Dante? How are you?"

" Hey Julia, are you okay? "

Dante' asked in a concerned tone.

" I'm all right. " Julia replied.

" I've been good, I'm at the club as usual" He replied.

" That's nice, I'm at work. "

Julia says casually.

" I've been worried about you, and last night, I thought something bad at happened you. "

He says Worriedly.

Julia let's out a deep sigh.

" It's a long story, did you notice how drunk I was? "

She asked him.

" Yeah I did, What happened ? you went off without saying goodbye. "

Dante' asked. Wanting her to narrate what happened last night.

" Last night was crazy but everything's okay now. "

Julia simply answered.

"Are you sure? hope nothing bad happened to you? "

He asked in a concerned tone. Expecting her to say more.

" I assure you, I'm fine. "

She answered, appreciating his concern.

Dante' paused and said.

" Don't mind me asking, but, did Javino do anything bad to you? Cause you didn't seem like yourself last night and he took you away without... "

She interrupts him.

"I would appreciate it, if you don't meddle in my private life."

Julia snapped at him. Slightly annoyed.

"Sorry if you are upset, I'm just concerned about you that's all."

Dante' apologized, slightly hurt by her words.

Julia doesn't respond to his apology. She didn't want to be reminded about last night.

Dante' went on to say .

" Julia you gotta stay away from that javino guy, cause he's bad luck, he's a rapist, a psychopath and a serial killer, He's not good for you and... "

Just then, her cousin, Carlos called.

"Uhh, Dante' I'm gonna have to put you on hold okay? My brother's on the line, I gotta answer him. We'll talk later. "

She says dismissively.

" All right. " He replied.

Julia answers carlos' call and says.

"Hello? Carlos, good morning..."

As Soon as she answers his call,

He says.

"Hey Julia, What happened last night, you said I should come pick you up but I didn't hear from you again. "

Carlos complained.

Interrupting Julia's greeting.

" Oh, sorry about last night, It was a long story, but I'm all right, I went home by myself. "

" Oh Thank God, I was worried about you, you left me online and didn't respond to my messages, so I taught Something bad had happened to you. "

Carlos says frantically.

" Well I'm a strong woman, so I'll survive whatever that comes my way. "

Julia said boastfully, making Carlos curious.

" Wait, what really happened last night? " he asked curiously.

" Long story, I'll tell you some other time" She answered.

"Okay, but Please don't leave me hanging like that next time okay? Always call to let me know that you're okay all right?"

He says in a subtle tone.

" Sure. " Julia assured him.

Carlos cared so much about Julia, he saw her as a little sister. And to Julia, he was like the twin brother and elder brother she wished she had.

" So how's your day going? "

Carlos asked.

" Good. " She answered.

She paused and said.

" Hey I was wondering can you come to my apartment today by four o'clock? So we can unpack and fix things together. I've been too busy to shuffle things into it's right places. Because I recently moved into my apartment, so everywhere's kinda dissaranged. "

She says with a sigh.

" No can do sis, I'll be busy with my girlfriend. She's at the hospital so I gotta be there, so I can take good care of her"

Carlos said, feeling slightly guilty for not agreeing to help her.

" All right, I guess I'll do it all by myself. "

Julia said in an almost sad tone.

"Sorry, I would have love to help you, maybe some other time. But hey, don't hesitate to call me in case you need anything okay?."

Carlos said with glee.

" All right, thanks, bye. "

Julia says dismissively so she can do her work.

" Sure, bye. "

Carlos replied and the call ended. She looked at her phone screen, expecting Dante' to still be on the line, but he wasn't. She kept her phone on a glass table.
