The whole gym is silent from the result of the battle, the outcome was present in front of them out of nowhere catching them off-guard, the ending came when no one expected it to come, most of them thought that both pokemons would tire each other out.
But things ended up completely differently, Julian's Boldore ended it with a Stone Edge, they have seen this Stone Edge before, it is the move that Julian favors a lot, many of his past battles have also ended with Stone Edge.
Julian won his third gym challenge in Unova and now he will have to face gym leaders who are a lot tougher than the first three, they will put a lot of pressure on their challengers but to Julian, it's just another step till he reaches the league.
Burgh walks towards Julian with a smile on his face, he is happy that he faced Julian and realized just how much he still has to improve, he is a good gym leader and he gave it all even though he didn't have to, Julian appreciated this, Burgh then passed the Insect Badge to Julian.
Julian took the badge as the crowd in the audience area cheered for him, they were really excited to see him battle, they were thanking their luck for coming into the gym in the right time and witnessing the battle.
Julian took the badge and quickly left before he gets caught by his crazy fans, without any guards and security around, he doesn't want to meet his fans because it can cause a stampede, he doesn't care about him being hurt because he can most just brush any incoming danger off without even bothering about it but his fans might get hurt in the ruckus that can happen when his fans gather together.
He quickly got on his bike and rode back to his hotel to rest for the day, luckily the hotel has a private lounge with everything that their guest might need, from spa to a swimming pool and even massagers for both humans and pokemons.
Once he got there he asked the manager to send some massagers for his pokemons so they can loosen up while he takes a long rest in the spa.
Hours pass and Julian is in the pool looking at the busy city of Castelia, then he suddenly noticed footsteps coming towards him, he turned around and noticed that it was Yesh.
Julian "Are you here to relax as well?"
He asked.
Yesh "No, I came to ask about a few stuff"
Julian "Go ahead"
Yesh "Did you watch the video of me battling with Ash"
Julian "Yes, I did, what about it?"
Yesh "What could have I done to win that battle?"
Julian "Well with how it is right now, you couldn't do anything, I was surprised it ended in a draw but good for you, I noticed you picked up really fast so I thought you did quite well"
Yesh "That doesn't answer my question"
Julian "Well, if it was me, I would have tried to end the battle before it even got the chance to build up to that extent"
Julian said and smiled.
That is when Yesh realized something, Ash's biggest problem has always been his start, if the battle keeps on going he gets in the zone and starts to outperform his opponents, the best way to beat Ash is to catch him off guard in the beginning and finish the battle before he could even get the chance to counter-attack.
Julian always knew about this, he has seen Ash battle many times, he has seen Ash struggle with his start but he didn't mention it, it is up to Ash to improve his mistake and his opponent's to figure out Ash's mistake, the only reason Julian gave this hint to Yesh is that he is his student now.
Even if Yesh is able to defeat Ash in their next battle, Julian is not worried about it much, he has seen Ash pull of anything during his battle, he wanted to see what Ash can do when he is pushed back to a corner from which he cannot escape.
To Julian, Ash was also like a student but he never agreed to tutor him but he was always interested in what Ash does and accomplish as he is the main character of this world, staying close to this character is very important.
Julian noticed that Yesh is still standing behind him staring at him.
Julian "Go on, what else do you need?" Yesh "I saw your battle today in the Castelia gym"
Julian "And?"
Yesh "Why did you use Karrablast when you could have used Darumaka and easily won"
Julian "It's not about winning, it's about improving your pokemon and making them stronger. If you always use your strongest pokemon or a pokemon with an advantage over your opponents, the ones who don't battle might get left behind, training is good but all that training you do needs to be put in practice as well so you can see if the training worked or not"
Yesh "One more, why, hide the Feint Attack till the end, you had many chances to use it during the battle, why save it till last?"
Julian "Sometimes it better to hide the things in your arsenal, it might be helpful in some situation, of course, I could have used Feint Attack in during the battle and not hide till the end but it wouldn't have become my final blow, my opponent could have seen it coming, he might even have a counter for it, sometimes its better to be safe and hid a few things till the end, with opportunity arrives, struck using it and the victory will be yours"
Yesh "That's all I will be leaving then"
Julian "Have you finished your gym battle?"
Yesh "Yes"
Julian "Good, then we will be leaving tomorrow"
Julian informed Yesh so he will be ready for tomorrow, he doesn't want to stay in this city for much longer, people are coming from other cities just to see him, things might get worse if he continues to stay here so he should be moving.
