Ch.54 A Normal Girl(5)
In the city today was a normal day as always, people were going to their jobs, kids were playing around, and the guards were roaming about.
It was no different for Aline and the others at the church, they started their morning and followed the duties they had.
"And that's five."
Aline said as she put down the fifth barrel of water in front of the hotel, a hotel staff next to her.
"Thank you for your hard work, here's the payment."
The hotel staff said as he handed her five copper coins, taking it from his hands she gave it a quick count as she nodded her head.
"Yes, do tell me if there is any other work."
Hearing her words the staff looked at the girl in front of him, although she was just three years old she looked like a seven-year-old and her mentality was even older than that.
After all what kind of three-year-old work instead of playing and without even being forced to?
"Sigh, Little Aline you know you don't need to do so much work. What if you overexert yourself?"
The staff said in a fatherly tone, after all, he can't sit still and let this little girl overexert herself.
"Don't worry uncle I am fine, plus I will like to help the church as much as I can."
She said as she smiled, her smile radiant as the sun itself melted the heart of the hotel staff.
"After all if the great Sun God has given me so much strength I should at least help my family with it."
She continued her voice as firm as ever, seeing the staff sigh in his mind but a smile also came to his face. Such a nice child she is,
"Here."
The staff said as he took out a sweet bread, seeing this Aline's eyes twinkled as she grabbed it from his hands.
"Thank you, Uncle."
Aline expressed her gratitude as she left the place, her getting food from uncles and aunts was nothing new so she wasn't surprised.
"I am not even married."
The staff said in an almost crying voice but Aline didn't hear it as she was long gone.
Bam!
"Hey slacker, what are you standing idly here for? Get those barrels inside."
Another man said as he punched him in the head from behind.
"Hey! you bastard."
The man said as he tried to punch back, the man simply dodged.
"Now, let's stop this game and get working."
The man said amused by his attempt to hit him, the man gritted his teeth as he picked up a barrel. It was very heavy so he took a deep breath and headed inside.
"That little girl is really something."
The other man said as he also picked up a barrel, although he was stronger than the other man even he couldn't pick up two.
Aline ran across the street as she helped anybody she could, the old fruit vendor gave her some fruits, the kind aunt gave her some sweets and others gave her various things.
After finishing that she ran toward the church, entering inside she gave the sweets to the other kids and the fruits to the nuns.
The nun cut the fruits up and distributed them among the children, Aline sat on a bench eating a bowl of fruits.
"Aline, you know you don't have to work for us."
The nun who got the coins from Aline said, she has been trying to stop Aline for years now but she just doesn't listen.
"But I want to help the church."
Aline said as she took another mouthful of fruits, her face formed a blissful smile as she enjoyed the taste.
"But you have already done so, after all, your parents gave us more than enough money."
The nun said her face defeated, no matter how much she says it just won't get through Aline's head.
"But that's my parents, not mine. I want to help on my own."
Aline replied back as she looked at the nun, suddenly her eyes lit up as she said.
"About the mo...."
"I will stop you right there young lady. If you are thinking of asking to use the money meant for you."
The nun stopped her mid-sentence as she hit her head, after all that money is meant for Aline and nobody else. All the money she has earned has also been added to that.
"Hehe"
Aline just giggled and didn't say anything else, after all, she knew she wouldn't win this battle.
Thud!
Suddenly Aline heard something from the distance, she looked in the general direction immediately.
"Is anything the matter?"
The nun asked looking at Aline's weird behavior.
"Sister, did you hear it?"
"Hear Wh...AAA"
She shouted mid-sentence as the ground below them shook making her lose balance, Aline quickly helped her up.
Thud! Thud!
The sound started to increase as Alien put the bowl down and exited the church in a hurry, the kids started to panic as the ground continued to shake.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
As Aline rushed outside she climbed the tree in the garden and looked toward the horizon, she didn't see anything.
The tree continued to shake but she didn't mind it as she continued to look, she could feel it. Something.. no.. a group was coming.
And she was right as on the horizon she could see it, a sea of gold... no a sea of golden bulls charging in this direction.
Their numbers are so much so that the ground shook as if an earthquake hit, and the land they walked got covered by their golden radiance.
"Monstersssssssssss!"
Aline shouted with all her might warning all the nuns about the coming danger, she jumped down as she entered the church building.
"From where?"
One of the older nuns asked as the other started to vacant the building with the nuns.
"There."
Aline pointed at the sound of the bulls hitting the ground increased.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
The sound started to increase signaling that the bulls had gotten closer than ever.
"You children's escape."
The old father said as he walked toward Aline and the Nun, hearing his words Alien said.
"I can help. Father"
"Hehe, You are a strong child. But let me handle it this time."
The old man said as he giggled a little, giving a fatherly smile he patted her head as he started to walk toward the direction where the bulls were coming from.
The nun grabbed Aline's hand as both of them started to escape, seeing this the father smiled.
"May you blossom beautifully. My child."
He muttered as he looked toward the horizon, the Bulls continued to change on, and the Knights had already started to station up.
"You should leave father. It is dangerous here."
One of the knights said as he looked at the old man come out of the church since it was at the very edge of the city he had come here to warn their denizens.
"I see. How long do you think you can hold out for child."
The father asked as he looked at the Knights, the defenders of the city who had gathered as much as they could at this time.
"For.. a... ten minutes father."
The Knight gave a reply, he was going to lie but for some reason, he spoke the truth.
"I see..."
The father muttered as he started to walk toward the coming horde, they were only some hundred kilometers away.
The distance that they will cover in seconds, seeing the look of defeat washed upon the father's face.
"It seems today will be the day this subject of yours will meet you, My lord."
He said as he went into a prayer position, his mana started to flare up. It erupted drowning out everything in the area.
The knights that were coming to stop him froze in their track. A Mana Galaxy rank, that was the rank of the old man.

He casted his spell as a barrier of pure gold started to surround the city, one hundred thousand square kilometer was the range which was covered by this barrier.
The barrier rippled as the charging bulls hit the barrier but it didn't break, the father fell down on the ground his mana almost completely expended.
