Grandmaster

When they entered inside the academy gate, they started observing their surroundings. After observing them for a while, just when they were about to continue, they heard the gatekeeper's voice

"Grandmaster, you have returned. "

When they turned to look at the gatekeeper, they noticed that he had a fawning face. They noticed that a person of an average of figure, somewhat thin looking man had at some point already come to their side.

It would seem, this person appearing forty to fifty years old, with short black hair with three seven separation, very ordinary looks, both hands held behind his back. His body possessed a kind of peculiar manner, with both eyes half open he seemed a bit sluggish and dispirited.

Grandmaster directly ignored the gatekeeper before turning towards old Jack and politely requested to check JoyBoy and Tang San's certificates.

Old Jack after all was a village elder and could still read a person's mood. From the gatekeeper's expression he could see that this middle aged person absolutely was not ranked low at this academy, and even more held the title of grandmaster there.

The grandmaster looked over their certificates, his gaze again shifting to Tang San, measuring him up and down. For some reason, although the grandmaster's gaze certainly was not sharp, Tang San had a feeling as if it saw through him completely.

Grandmaster then turned towards old Jack and said

"If you don't mind then I can take them to the registration and help them settle in."

When a spirit master level personage requested something from him, old Jack's vanity received an enormous boost, quickly thanking him, he hastily replied

"Grandmaster, I will trouble you with these children. Tang San and JoyBoy, both of you follow Grandmaster inside ok, but you must be obedient. Remember to always help each other.

Grandpa will return to the village first. I will come back on the next holiday to pick you up. Take care of each other."

Tang San nodded, but did not open his mouth. JoyBoy gave a polite nod.

After speaking, old Jack directly left. After that, they followed Grandmaster to his office.

While on the way, the conversation between Tang San and Grandmaster was the same as in the novel. Tang San tried to guess his identity but was unsuccessful. JoyBoy noticed that every time Grandmaster tried to smile it was unsightly.

"He needs more practice." He thought.

After some more unsuccessful attempts from Tang San, Grandmaster finally explained

"I am only a freeloading tenant at this place, that's all. You and the others alike called me Grandmaster, right. Everyone address me like this. Even to the extent that I have already forgotten my name. On the spirit hall certificate was written that you are called Tang San, right. Tang San, you must understand, the meanings of grandmaster and teacher are entirely different, and hereafter must not address me incorrectly. Unless..."

Saying this, his words slowed, in his eyes glimmered a burning light,

"Unless you are genuinely willing to make me your teacher."

While watching this conversation happening in front of him, JoyBoy remained silent. He was feeling a little excited seeing this, soon to become legends, master-disciple first time encounter happening in front of him.

"You want to teach me spirit cultivation?" Tang San asked.

Grandmaster halted his steps, standing calmly, facing Tang San.

"Are you willing to do that?"

Tang San naturally also stopped, raising his head to look at Grandmaster before him, now observing at close range.

Grandmaster saw Tang San's both eyes staring at him blankly, and that stiff smiling expression once again emerged,

"Good, you really are a clever child."

Grandmaster, like old Jack, raised his hand to tousle Tang San's head.

"Naturally gifted, and also this clever. It seems even I must persistently try again. How should I say this? You also have the third twin spirit in these last hundred years."

Seeing Grandmaster's actions , JoyBoy thought

"Everyone seems to like patting Tang San's head. I wonder, why no one tries to pat my head ?"

Hearing grandmaster's words, Tang San was greatly startled. His gaze looking at Grandmaster suddenly changed. He already quietly lifted his left wrist, a surprised unpredictable look appearing in his eyes.
