John: The King Of Beasts

John had a simple yet complicated life, there wasn't much of a difference from everyone else apart from a complex family relationship. But that life was cut short when he was killed in place of his gangster twin brother. It sucked and John was left with more bitterness than he knew what to do with. Now death is usually the end but John gets reincarnated into an alternate earth as Test subject No 7. This world's History and reality has been extensively changed by cosmic force of unknown origins that has come to be known as the system. All sentient life thrive and grow by relying on the strength of it's unique created technology and creatures called terminals. John was genetically modified to be a soldier in a war for the unification of this world's version of his now very different country. But he was done living for others. so he lives, carving a path of murder, debauchery, kindness, philanthropy, and schemes as he tries to build a world for himself and those that follow him. starting and ending rebellions, loving women like the world will end, training terminal beasts and orbs and winning tournaments after tournaments until he stands on top of the universe; the single greatest force of Change it has ever experienced, positive or negative it would be that much better for it. [A Fusion between pokemon/ Yu GI Oh/ and Litrpg with a very dark undertone. not for the faint of heart as this novel explores the ugly side of our reality without remorse. apologies for those who might get offended but I guarantee.... it's going to be a wild ride.] support me on PATREON at Anone_Lionheart.

There have been significant changes in a year, especially for Tri more so than me who saw a full on increase in all of her stats. I had an equal increase, though at a smaller scale than hers, and even worse my energy only increased by a measly two small points. We still had no skills, but now I had a new tab called knowledge. Yet with everything I've learnt this past year I only got engineering and defensive martial arts, which was pretty annoying since I learned two separate martial arts yet the system had clumped them together. And as for engineering that was just unfair, I could rig my alarm clock to short circuit the automated doors system of the cafeteria…at least that had to count for something.

Never the less I knew the system was scaling the level of my knowledge on a universal scale, so if level 10 was the highest, I'm almost halfway there with my defensive martial arts. And from what I've heard, no one has actually reached level 10 in any skill as that would be considered on the level of gods. The highest known recorded level for any knowledge which crazily enough was cooking! Was actually level 8, so I guess my martial arts should be at average if a little bit above it.

"Number Seven, anytime soon would be nice for your evaluation, do not keep the generals waiting." I raised my head up to look at the group of people watching me behind a well reinforced window, apparently they saw me as a threat, or maybe it wasn't me, but the four-foot-tall raptor that was standing behind me. I turned around to look at Tri struggling to keep my amusement to myself as she glowered at the people watching us.

[You should calm down triumphant, I don't think they are here to harvest my organs today.] I said to her with a smile on my face as I face the man in front of me.

{I don't like them! they should just let us go, it's not right that they're keeping us here.}

Assuming I was born in this world without memories of my past life, then Tri would not have been so opinionated about my struggles as an experiment. She had access to my memories and in the past year without anyone to talk to, we had only each other. A telepathic link between herself and me being formed because she was a terminal, and she was super intelligent for a beast, too intelligent even. According to studies, it should be impossible for most beast to grow their stats past a particular stage, and for Compound Raptors, their mental stats capped at 4.5 she was smarter than normal, and whether it was by oversight or they just didn't care about the fact that I got a 2-star beast as a terminal as opposed to my elder siblings who had beast with at least 4 stars.

Beast were categorized by rarity and potential, and those are denoted by the amount of stars they had. Also the amount of stars also determined the grade and rarity of cards a beast could learn, as it went beyond just how matched their stats were. I shifted my gaze towards the man who was steadily advancing towards me. The logic, science and general knowledge test had been boring, the philosophy test was even annoying and then I was asked to recite some verses from the Quran. That was the only thing I knew I dropped the ball on, I was still too set in the ways of my old life.

But now this was a combat test, once again I'm going up against someone that's obviously stronger and faster than me, but luckily I had Tri with me to help me make up for the lack of strength and speed. I braced myself and tried not to close my eyes for the pain that I knew was about to come, I was far from getting used to it.

[INFUSE]

Tri's form seemed to vanish, turning into a wisp of smoke that flowed into my body, the pain was searing and almost blinding., but I took it in stride and moved forwards. I've had to practice this a million times over, and every time hurts as much as the last time. It was getting to a point that I was getting used to the pain, which was why even as Tri rushed into my body I moved forwards, using my small stature to duck under a punch turning my body so that my back faced my assailant.

My hands though small, rushed up to grab his outstretched hands, then I pivoted my body using his momentum and speed to throw him over my shoulders. I wasn't as strong as was required to face someone this strong, but with the infusion I had enough strength to wrench the hand I had grabbed backwards, just before he hit the ground. There was a satisfying pop as his shoulder was dislocated.

But this guy was a soldier, he only gave a simple grunt of pain before he turned himself over and pounced towards me from the floor like some curled snake striking at its prey. I moved to the side, tapping his outstretched fist and then slamming an open palm to his back while he was midair, bringing him crashing to the ground in an extremely painful heap. I quickly twisted his dislocated arm backwards, unfazed but satisfied by the cry of pain before wrapping my hands around his neck and squeezing for all it was worth. He struggled, but he faded away just as fast.

"That was an impressive warm up number Seven. Commander Yusuf, send in the rest." I looked up surprised as the gates opposite me slid open and six other men walked out, and from the way they moved and carried themselves, they were a lot stronger than my first opponent. Looks like I'll be getting a few broken bones and bruises today.
