It was Adrian's first time in the human world. Adrian was born during the solar eclipse five hundred years ago and so he was the only vampire who could walk under the sun and not get burned. They had the human world through the barrier in a matter of minutes. The barrier led to a thick forest on the east side of Downntown Seattle. Rexy led the way and in a flash they made it of the forest and into town. This was possible because of the super speed they possessed. Cade also crossed the barrier and almost lost track of them because of the speed at which they zoomed off. He looked around to make sure there was no one watching. When he had satisfied his curiousity that he was all alone,he quickly transformed in to the most magnificent enormous and robust looking wolf. His fur was black as coal and his eyes sparkled in the sun. He quickly ran off following their scent. Sometimes he stopped and sniffed the air to make sure he was on the right track. He doubled his speed in order to meet up with them. When he finally made it out of the forest there was no sight of them anywhere. He changed back to his human form. He would have to wait for the day to break before he continues his search.

Adrian had followed Rexy to a motel. They decided to hole up there and wait for sun rise. Rexy handled the checking in with the motel manager who looked as scared and white as a mutton. Rexy's yellowish teeth and the ugly scar across his face shook him up. Rexy could barely control himself at the sight of the human. Its been a while since he had some human blood. Adrian had to caution him and remind him not to mess up their mission. Adrian took the only bed in the room while rexy had to make do with the sofa.

'what did she look like' Adrian asked.

'i could not see her clearly because it was dark, but she had dark hair and very blue eyes'

'we'll begin hunting at sunrise ' Adrian said as he drifted off to sleep.

Since the incident that day, jayda has been avoiding dark alleys. Work was hectic as usual. She had spent half the morning printing some papers. Now she had to deliver the papers to some corporation down the street.It was noon already. Just as she was exiting the building in to the main street,she was so concerned about meeting up with time that she did not look where she was going and she stumbled in to a rock hard chest and all the paper she had piled up spilled on the ground. She quickly bent down to pick them up ignoring whoever she had run in to. She was busy gathering the papers when a hand picked up one of the paper and offered it to her. She looked up at the stranger's face. He was staring at her so intently. She stared at him too. From the black shoulder length hair, to the cold gray eyes, small full lips and sharp edged jaw, she was mesmerized. He looked like a greek god. She let her eyes wander down and from his half buttoned shirt she could see his broad muscled chest. She stopped herself and quickly collected the paper he was offering. Her nose picked up a weird scent but she ignored it. She heard him say ' you have beatiful eyes'.

She looked up immediately and before she could stop herself and without her knowledge, her eyes sparked up like there was fire in them. It happened in a split second but Adrian saw it.

'oh, thank you ' she said. She blushed, that was the first time someone was complimenting her eyes. Adrian smiled, this was easier than he thought. He had woken up and decided to take a look round the city while keeping an eye out for a slim girl with dark hair and very blue eyes. And imagine his luck. He could not kill her there and then because people were up and about plus she was a beauty to behold. It was just sad that such beauty had to go to waste. He would have to play it cool if he wanted to get this mission over with.

She finished picking up the papers and stood up. Adrian stood up too.

' i'm sorry for running in to you and creating this mess' he said.

'its okay. i guess i'll see you around'

'when do you get off work' he asked.

'why?'

'i would like to make it up to you. How about dinner tonight?'

The way he was looking at her made her weak in the knees. He would be the perfect lay she thought.

'meet me out here by 7pm.'

'7pm it is' he chuckled. The sight of him smiling made her melt inside.

' i'm jayda by the way'

'Adrian' he replied.

She chuckled, looked him up and down and turned and went on her way. He stared after her suddenly wanting to get her in to his bed. The urge to sleep with her was driving Adrian crazy. This was all wrong, he could not jeopardize the mission. In order to get his thoughts together, he decided to walk around some more before going back to the motel. He would have to ask rexy for some cash to take jayda out to dinner.

Cade already frustrated with the search decided to take a break. He retired in to a nearby restaurant and ordered some whisky. He paid his bill with money he had pick-pocketed.

He was about to get up and leave the restaurant when he saw Adrian outside the restaurant through the glass window. He quickly sat down and took the menu from the table and covered his face. He watched him enter another restaurant across the street. He saw him open the door for a dark haired girl and from where he sat he could see their table. Something was up he thought. Adrian would not come here just to see some girl. He waited.

Two hours later he saw them get up and make for the door. He gave them a good head start and then followed them.

Adrian had offered to walk jayda home after dinner. She could hear her heart beating really loud and fast. Adrian had told her a bunch of lies about being new in town and being in tech business.

When they finally got to her cozy bungalow,

'well this is me' Jayda said looking at Adrian expectantly.

' we're here already? that was quick'

'do you want to come in for some tea' she asked.

He gave her a knowing look and smiled.

'sure'

Cade was watching all this from a distance. When he saw the girl leading Adrian in to her house, he could not hold back. He was going to ruin the night for him. He quickly came out of his hiding place and yelled 'ADRIAN!!'

Adrian who was just about to climb the front step stopped dead in his tracks. He knew he smelt something funny but he thought it was jayda. No wonder he kept feeling like he was being followed.

He walked back to the road. Jayda was staring from Cade to Adrian. Why was she running in to men so handsome they seemed out of this world today. Both of them so handsome, both of them dressed in all black.

'do I know you' Adrian asked

Cade looked at him viciously. He suddenly started running toward Adrian. He quickly transformed in to a wolf and jumped on Adrian, they both crashed to the ground. Adrian did not react. Cade growled and roared at him. Adrian remained still. Cade did not expect that kind of response. He was so angry he dug his fang in to Adrian's shoulder. Adrian yelled in agony. He still did nothing, he just lay on the ground seething in pain. Cade looked up to see jayda's glowing eyes. So she was the one. What was going on he thought. Nobody was reacting the way he expected. They were not fighting back. He slowly retraced his steps and with one last look at the both of them he turned and ran away. He atleast knew one thing now, the hybrid did exist and she was still alive.
