CHAPTER 17

GLYNDA GOODWITCH POV

"The costs of the broken furniture will be taken from your monthly allowance. Is that clear Mr Arc?" she asked, narrowing her eyes for further intimidation and for conveying the fact that this was non negotiable.

"That is understandable." Mr Arc said calmly in a surprising bout of maturity.

"You also have a detention with Professor Port after the classes today. So please go and meet him in his office after your last class."

The boy looked up with a confused frown. "Why?"

"Because while violence might seem like a good idea at the time Mr Arc, it is not the answer." Headmaster Ozpin said and the boy thought about it for a moment before he gave a nod.

"Okay. But what about Cardin and his team?" Jaune asked.

"What about them?"

Jaune frowned once again "They have been bullying other students since the start of this term. They even tried to bully me and only stopped once I defeated Cardin in the Arena and showed them that I was capable of standing up for myself."

"I assure you that we have received no such complaints from other students Mr Arc." She said, wondering if the boy was lying or if Mr Winchester and his team mates were truly bullying the other students.

Being a Combat Instructor and the Vice Principal of the Academy didn't leave her with a lot of time to interact with her students.

Especially when Ozpin usually delegated all the paperwork to her instead of doing it himself. That infuriating man.

"A bullied victim usually doesn't always go to others for help. But that doesn't mean that the bullying isn't happening." The boy said, showing more backbone than he had shown in anything else aside from the initiation test.

Even she had to admit that you need to be either very brave or very stupid to join the Beacon Initiation test without even having your aura unlocked.

Before she could think to say something, the Headmaster spoke up.

"I assure you Mr Arc that we'll look into this and punish Team Cardinal if they're found guilty of bullying their fellow Hunter in training."

Jaune gave the Headmaster a suspicious glance, clearly not believing that anything will be done about team Cardinal but the boy also seemed unwilling to push his luck and simply nodded in the end.

"If there's nothing else Mr Arc." Headmaster Ozpin said and the boy took his leave and left the room.

They stayed silent for a while after Mr Arc's departure.

"You didn't tell him about the complaints we've received from the other Faunus members in his class." She said as she remembered how those Faunus students had filed a complaint about feeling fear and discomfort around Mr Arc.

Ozpin took another sip from his seemingly bottomless cup of coffee and spoke "Whatever reason the Faunus students have for fearing Mr Arc, it clearly isn't intentional on the boy's part. Unless this situation escalates or we get any more complaints from other students, there's no reason to take action in our part."

She narrowed her eyes, clearly not happy with Ozpin's nonchalant attitude but the Headmaster simply sipped his cup without being bothered by her glare.

In the end, she took out her scroll and started to look through the class recordings of Mr Arc's class to look for any sign of bullying from team Cardinal.

"I'll look into Mr Arc's accusations against team Cardinal."

"You do that." Ozpin said.

She held back the urge to drop his coffee on his lap with practiced ease and started to look through the recordings carefully.

Suffice to say, it didn't take her long to find multiple events of bullying performed by Mr Winchester and his fellow teammates on other students.
