JAUNE ARC POV

"So, this is it?" he asked as he stared at the Lamp Raven had put on the table.

"Yes." Raven said, not mincing her words.

Okay.

So…

How to summon the Jinn.

He put his hand on the lamp and rubbed it before stepping back.

He waited.

Everyone stared at the lamp.

…nothing happened.

"…was that supposed to do anything?" Miltia asked.

"Maybe we brought back the wrong thing?" Melanie asked.

"I did not bring the wrong thing." Raven said, glaring at the younger girl.

"I don't think she meant it that way." Pyrrha said, stepping between Raven and Melanie "Ozpin is an old and experienced individual. I wouldn't put it past him to change the original and put a fake one in its place."

"No." He said, his voice stopping any budding argument from brewing. "It's me. I don't remember how to summon the Jinn. I mean I remember seeing Ruby…"

At that moment, the lamp started to glow and levitate in the air.

Huh… what did he… oh!

He had to say her 'name' to summon her and not just rub the lamp.

Now he felt foolish.

But that was understandable.

If Jinn could be summoned by simply rubbing the lamp then anyone would be able to use the Relic of Knowledge.

A faint blue mist came out of the lamp and he could the girls take a step back and ready their weapons.

He looked outside and saw a flock of birds suspended in mid-air and the blades of grass had stopped moving under the wind.

It was as if someone had clicked on the pause button on the world.

Time itself had stopped moving in his Pocket Dimension.

And so that his companions.

He looked ahead of him and saw the blue mist coalescing into a female-shaped figure.

It wasn't long before the blue-colored form of Jinn materialized in front of him.

She let out a moan as she yawned and flexed her figure, showing them her curvaceous, naked body.

And of course, one could not forget the thick golden chains binding her form.

He wondered if those chains were there just for show, a metaphorical concept about how knowledge should be bound or if they actually meant something.

Was Jinn an actual living person who was being caged in the Relic of Knowledge?

If she was, then could he shroud her and take her for his own?

If he could do that and increase her power with his Dragon Blood and Shroud… would she be able to answer more of his questions.

He had a feeling that this could be possible even if she was not in the catalog.

After all, there was nothing in the Catalog saying that the Waifus should only be humans.

They could anything, from demons, to slime girls, to cyborgs to AIs.

So why not Jinn.

But these questions… they can wait.

"It's wonderful to be out again." The Jinn said in an alluring voice before she turned to look at him. "I am Jinn. A being created by the God of Light to aid humanity in it's pursuit of knowledge. I've been graced with the ability to answer three questions for every 100 years. You're in luck as I'm still able to answer two of your questions."

Then she looked around and her smile turned into a confused look "I see that I'm not in Remnant anymore. But a Pocket Dimension. Separate from it. How curious." Then she looked at him with a curious expression "And it is bound to you. As are all the women in this place. How intriguing."

"Perhaps. But I have a question to ask of you." He said.

"Then do ask." She said with a smile.

"How can I capture Salem, without losing any of my companions?" he asked.

Jinn's smirk widened upon hearing that question.

"I think you already know the answer to that Jacob." She said as she moved around him "You know what you are capable of. The opportunities you've been given. Just a few compromises and you'll never have to lose any of your companions ever again."

She was talking about the Warranty Plan of the Company. But he didn't have enough points.

And to gain those points, he'll have to sell or enslave other women. Women who didn't deserve that fate.

His fists clenched at that.

"That is not the answer I seek."

"I know." She said "And I can understand why you would be against this idea. But have you asked those girls. Do you think that they would not accept your offer if you promise them eternal life and more power?"

He took a deep breath and decided to answer her. But… he didn't have anything to say to that.

If he offered Weiss, Yang or Ruby what he had then would they accept?

Ruby probably won't. But Yang and Weiss. They might.

He already had 138 points. He only needed 62 more.

But even if Weiss, Yang and Ruby accepted it, that would only give him 36 points.

He could ask Glynda… but he doubted that she would accept being shrouded.

Maybe… he could just force her into it.

Compromise his morals just this once.

He definitely hadn't hesitated when he did the same to Maria Calavera.

But then again, Maria was an old woman. Someone who would die within a few years or a decade. And her silver eyes would be very useful against Salem.

And she had accepted his offer. Right?

He clenched his teeth.

Now was not the time to second guess himself.

"I know that there must be other ways to defeat Salem. Tell me about them."

Jinn pouted at him.

"Very well then. The answer to your question is quite simple." She said.

He silently waited for her to continue.

"You and your companions are already strong enough to capture Salem."

"But… Salem is an 8th tier." He said, wondering if Jinn even knew what an 8th tier waifu was.

But if she knew about company… then there's no reason why she shouldn't know about this.

Then again. How did she knew about the Company in the first place.

Could she read his mind?

But shouldn't Mind Defense have prevented such a thing.

He didn't know and frankly, it wasn't important right now.

"Salem is indeed powerful." Jinn nodded "But most of her power comes from her ability to create Grimm. Aside from that, she is indeed a powerful sorceress but not strong enough to take on you and all of your companions and win."

"But you told Ozpin that Salem couldn't be destroyed."

"Indeed. Salem's soul is connected to the Essence of this world. As long as that Essence remains, her body will continue to reform no matter how many times you destroy or seal it away. But… you don't plan to destroy her, do you?"

"So if I take my companions and attack Salem right now then I would win?"

"I didn't say that." She smiled "Remember, Salem is still an old and powerful sorceress. If you go into her domain and try to defeat her then you might win but you'll still lose some of your companions." She said, looking at Melanie, Miltia, and Neo. All of whom were still in 6th tier.

"I see. So if all my companions are at tier 7. Then we should win without any difficulty?"

"Not without any difficulty. And there's a small chance that you might still lose one or two of your companions. But it's unlikely that you'll fail in capturing Salem. Does this answer the question to your satisfaction?"

He nodded "It does. Thank you for your help."

She nodded at him. "Very well. Farewell till the next time, Jaune."

Then she went back into the Relic and time started moving once again.

The girls pointed their weapons at the Relic, looking confused.

"What happened?" Raven asked.

"I know what to do now." He answered.
