Waking Up

Allie slowly woke up and realized she was in a dark damp room. Feeling in her pockets she found her cellphone and turned the flashlight on. Looking around it was a mine, long twisting corridors. All different types of objects were thrown around. It smelled mold, and dusty. Hearing a loud metal door shut, Allie quickly hid behind some cardboard boxes. The scary man walked past without seeing her. She breathed a sigh of relief. As she moved from behind the boxes she accidentally knocked over some cans. Freezing in place as her heart beat sped up. The man came running into the room looking around for her. Spotting the scattered cans he found her and quickly picked her up. She couldn't get out of his grasp. He gently set her down on an old mattress. Looking at her intently he tied a locket around her neck. Allie didn't understand why he hadn't hurt her. He went an got a chair and sat in front of her. Not used to her space being violated, she scooted back a little. The complete silence worried her. He seemed so content with just staring at her. 'Why did you bring me here?" she asked. He didn't say anything, but he shifted on his chair uncomfortably. 'What's wrong, cant you speak?" she asked. He shook his head no. I don't know how I'm gonna be able to communicate with him if he is mute, she thought to herself.
