Super Awkward

The new week comes very fast. After saying goodbye to her mom on that bright Monday morning, she drove her kids to kindergarten. It's the kiddo's first day at school.

Emma accompanied her sons until in front of the door of their class. Before she left she told her sons to be nice and that she would come to fetch them after school. Emma is a little worried about leaving her sons under the care of someone else other than her mom. 

"Mom, come on. Don't worry so much. We're big boys now, we can take care of ourselves, okay?" Ean spoke out to reassure and convince their mom.

Eric added, "Mom, I have my 2 big brothers looking out for me while we are at school. You can go to work without any worries."

Hearing that, Emma looks at Earl to seek his reassurance. Earl gave her a nod and said "Go to work Mom, bye. See you later." 

"Are you guys trying to chase me out, now?" Emma sighed. 

The triplets smile showing their teeth as their reply.

"Alright. Mommy will be going now. Be nice, okay?" 

"Okay." The triplet answers in unison.

Finally, Emma walked out of the kindergarten building and headed up to her office. 

She has a meeting scheduled this morning to meet the CEO of Greene Group. 

'It's just a normal introduction meeting with the CEO, bringing my notebook should be enough' Emma spoke inwardly.

The VVIP that the team waiting for didn't arrive on time as scheduled, however all of the Holderlin Key Management team were already inside the board meeting room. The Managing Director of Holderin, Gerald Robert asked Emma to sit in the front row.

"Emma, you have to sit in front. We will introduce you to Mr. Ashton Greene, our CEO." Gerald directed Emma to which chair she should sit. 

"Okay." 

After 10 minutes, Emma heard Gerald announce the CEO had arrived. And everyone rushed to take their seats.

The so-called CEO of Greene Group made an entrance to the meeting room. Everyone stands up to show respect. Emma also stood up and looked in the direction of the entrance door.

There he goes, an elegant, tall, good-looking man. And one more, with a gray-eyes.

'Oh wow, I never expected that the CEO of Greene Group is such a young man. He looks like he is only in his 30s.' Emma cannot help but start monologues in her mind.

'He looks familiar'. Emma thought.

'Wait a minute.....he looks familiar!!'. Her monologues continue. Emma looks up to see the big boss's face again. To confirm her instinct.

Emma looked down instantly while covering her mouth. 'Don't tell me, my big big boss was the father of my sons. His face was 100% her triplet copy-paste. God, please don't do this to me.' Emma speaks inwardly and tries to hold her composure as much as she can.

This big shot didn't notice Emma at all. He's still busy talking with Gerald, the Managing Director.

While Emma continues her monologue to calm herself 'Don't worry Emma, your existence is insignificant to him. I bet he doesn't even remember you. Do not think nonsense!'

"Before we start our meeting, Emma, please introduce yourself to Mr. Greene'. Gerald tapped on Emma's shoulder.

Emma looks up and smiles professionally. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Greene, I'm Emma Austen, the new HR Manager. I'm looking forward to contributing and growing together with Holderin Inc." Emma reached out for a shake hand.

Ashton looks at her and shakes her hand without saying anything. 

'Good, he does not remember me.' Emma reassured herself. Emma went back to her seat and sat silently without saying much. 

'God, please end this meeting as soon as possible.' Emma played this mantra in her mind hoping the meeting would end soonest possible. She doesn't want to be in the same room with this gray-eyed devil any longer. She was scared that he might re-called seeing her face before.

Throughout the meeting, Emma looked down at her pen on the table most of the time. She once looked up to the CEO acting normal when he gave harsh comments on some issues and he also looked at her at the same time. When they made eye contact, oh God, it was super awkward. Emma instantly pretended to look at the person in front of her to hide her anxiety.

Ashton didn't show any suspicion to Emma.

Once the CEO announced the meeting was adjourned, without further ado, Emma stood up and walked out of the meeting room silently.

But, unbeknownst to Emma, Ashton caught her back who hurriedly went out from the room.
