"Get up Herro and prepare to attack as soon as the Electric nets are shot!" Then, Kira pulled out her daggers and peeked her head on top of the rubble.
Herro was slightly confused and asked, "Why are you holding your dagger? I thought, we're going to throw Hydrogen grenades at them?"
Kira's ears twitched when she heard what Herro had said. "Sh*t! I totally forgot about that thing!" Then she grabbed the bag in her back and then pulled out the crate containing the bombs. Then she gestured to Herro with her hands to tell him to come and get some bombs.
Herro nodded and walked towards her and grabbed some bombs. He already knew what to do and just threw the bombs at full force.
The whistling of the winds continued for a few seconds and then a sound bang was heard. Then Kira and Herro saw that the Electric net was flying towards the center of the hole. It was really visible because of Electricity lightning running through the threads.
"NOW!" Kira shouted and started to throw the Hydrogen grenades at high speed. Herro followed her and threw the grenades that were in his hands.
The two Mutants were caught by the unexpected trap that Herro and Kira had made. They were not able to escape immediately because of the sudden attack and they were just standing there while electricity from the Electric net crackling in their skins.
The Hydrogen grenades flew towards them and when they come in contact with the electricity from the nets, they exploded within 0.01 seconds.
The grenades created a strong explosion and produced a strong shockwave. The shockwave hit the rubble and it was obliterated almost instantly. Kira and Herro flew back, but Kira managed to land on her feet while Herro landed on his back and rolled a few times before coming to a stop.
Luckily, he was able to protect his injured head and managed to stay conscious. He prioritized protecting his head since the previous head injury from when they descended into the Underground Military Base.
Because he prioritized protecting his head, his body took larger damage, especially his back. Even though his back was aching, Herro was still able to get up after lying down for three seconds.
After getting up, he looked around and saw Kira and she was standing a couple of distance away from him. He then commented on his head, 'If I was just a little bit stronger, I wouldn't suffer like this' then he slowly caressed his lower back.
The shockwave didn't last long and Herro and Kira survived that. Kira looked at Herro and used a hand sign to tell him to attack. Herro nodded when he saw Kira's sign and immediately rushed towards the center of the hole.
They saw the two Mutants lying down motionlessly and filled with cuts and wounds in their body. It was obvious right now that the Mutants
Herro didn't pull the katana's on his back, but instead formed an 'X' sign on his chest, using his arms, and clenched fists, then extended his arms like the Human wolf with claws in some movies—ahem. After doing that hard-to-explain action, his finger transformed into blades, making it look like five-fingered claws.
The transformation happened in an instant. Herro and Kira were still dashing towards the two motionless Mutants.
Kira reached the motionless Mutants within seven seconds, while Herro took around thirty seconds to reach it. Their speed has a large gap, after all.
After Kira reached the first motionless Mutant, she observed it for a couple of seconds. After she was done observing it, she pulled one of her daggers on her back and stabbed the Mutant on its head. She was on high alert and she didn't want to risk their life for such a simple mistake, so she decided to make sure that it died in her hands.
After she was certain that the Mutant was indeed dead, she suddenly grabbed the foot of the nearest Mutant from them and pulled it, and threw it out of the Hole's range and it flew really far.
Herro had just reached the scene when he saw that the Mutant flew away, back to where he and Kira are hiding before. He felt that he's like an ignorant person after watching the scene unfold in his eyes. He was utterly shocked that it left his mouth open for a while. Then Kira said, "Go and absorb that Mutant that I threw away! I will battle the other one here."
After hearing what Kira had said, he felt that he was played around by her. 'I run from there and even activated my claws and yet you're gonna make me run again back to where I came? F*ck!' Herro protested in his thoughts. He could not afford to voice it out because he was afraid of her.
Without leaving him any other choices, he started to run back towards the Mutant that Kira had thrown away.
With his speed, it will take him another thirty minutes to come back where he came from. But before he could reach his destination, he heard a loud noise from his back. When he turned around, he saw the other Mutant flying towards his direction.
It was as if Herro's brain had escaped his skull that he was lost all of his ability to think and just stood there motionlessly as the Mutant fly over his head. Well, the shock that he received now turns to be a blessing. He unknowingly avoided Mutant crushing him by standing in his position. If he moved forward by just five meters, he will be utterly crushed by the mutant.
The Mutant that Kira had thrown landed atop of the first Mutant that she threw. The Mutant created a loud thud and it woke Herro who's nailed on his position.
Then he shook his head to clear the anger and frustration from his head. "I really appreciate Kira's help, but this is too much!' Herro protested in his mind.
'It is fine as long as I am alive, so I'll just let this thing slide.' Then he started running after he sighed in acceptance of his situation.
Kira was just standing below the hole, waiting for the other Mutant to come and descend. She will engage in a fight with it and try to kill it while Herro was still absorbing the two dead Mutants.
If Herro absorbed it, it would be a great increase in their survivability in this world filled with vicious creatures. Then she heard Herro shouted, "Absorb!". She looked in his direction and smiled when she saw Herro started to absorb the Mutant.
Kira was just standing there, waiting for the last Mutant to descend. She didn't have to wait for a long time because a shadow loomed over her. She looked up and saw a Mutant descending, she smiled and then ran away from the hole to avoid the shockwave created when the Mutant landed.
The Mutant finally landed and a cloud of dust appeared as a result. After the cloud of dust subsides, Kira saw the Mutant standing there while surveying its surroundings. Then she pulled out the two daggers in her back and rushed toward the mutant.
*Back when Herro just arrived at the corpse of the two Mutants*
Herro was just standing in front of the Mutants. He was still feeling the pressure from their dead bodies. Then he jumped and landed on the chest of the Mutant that was lying atop of the other Mutant.
Without wasting even a second, he immediately pierced the stomach of the Mutant. The blue panel appeared in front of his eyes again, but he didn't waste time to read it and shouted: "Absorb!"
The spiral force appeared on his palm again and it slowly absorbed the blood and flesh of the mutant.
The situation from before, when he absorbed the Mutant he killed, compared to their situation right now is completely different. There was no pressure back them compared to now that it is not just a battle against the Mutants, but also a battle against time.
Even though Kira is a lot stronger than before, they should not underestimate the inhuman foe they're facing. It was also Herro's motto that one shouldn't underestimate an enemy.
Herro was still absorbing the first corpse of the Mutant when he heard a whistling sound coming from the hole. He suddenly shifted his head towards Kira's direction and saw that she is trying to run away from the hole.
Even though the hole is really large Kira easily escaped from it before the Mutant could land. The air whistling continues for a couple of seconds and then followed by a loud bang, indicating that the Mutant had descended. But what happened next is really unexpected, making Herro believe that you should always expect the unexpected.
