I Survive

"How long had I been unconscious?"

*Beep*

<It's 4 been hours since the death of user.>

"4 hours, huh? That was long... or is it? Well, anyway... thanks for looking after my body."

*Beep*

<Affirmative. >

Since it was a short rest, my body felt better than before and I didn't feel like I was in a rush. And because of the revival stuff, it seems like all of my injuries have been healed.

I could stand and move like nothing had happened. I can't say that the death had a good effect on me but it certainly made me feel like I could keep moving.

"I just remember, I did level up right after beating the golem. Can you show me the details of the level-up, please?"

*Beep*

<Displaying user's status>

Looking at the status, I was surprised. As the stats went up to an incredible number. It seems the golem gave me a huge boost of experience and it was a great way to level up.

-STATUS-

Name: Edvin Wehneim

Level: 22

HP: 250/250

MP: 100/100

-Attributes-

STR: 17

VIT: 12

AGI: 24

INT: 15

But when I saw my stats, I noticed that my base HP seems to be lower than before. I ask Helmy right away regarding that part.

"Hey, why did my base HP drop to 250? Before the level up, it should be around 300 or maybe 350."

*Beep*

<That was I reassigned the stats to boost chance of user survivability. Increasing agility will increase odds killing monster easily while being buffed by helmet.>

Hearing that reason, it does make sense as the helmet does provide a buff for my attack by a lot I couldn't say anything else as Helmy did boost my attack a lot, and by being more agile, it would surely help me in a fight.

And if I remember correctly, with every monster that I defeated... I would gain an additional +2 attack on the buff. As long as the monster was killed by the helmet buff.

It's not like I would want to encounter a lot of monsters on my way out but, the extra stats couldn't hurt, could it? I mean that itself would help me a lot in the future and it's a good thing.

With that in mind, I decided to view the map and proceed to get out of this dungeon. Sadly, I can't view all of the things that happening in real time with the map. But I should be grateful enough as I could navigate through the dungeon using the map provided.

As I proceed to get out from the deepest part of this dungeon, there a multiple pathways that could lead to the upper dungeon. But thanks to the map, I managed to pick the correct path.

There are monsters along the road but they aren't very strong ones. They weren't hard to defeat either but some gave me trouble. Especially those that appeared out of nowhere.

Which means I probably haven't fallen that far from the dungeon. That itself is a relief since defeating the monster isn't something that I worry about at the moment. The most terrifying thing was death because of starvation as I didn't have any food supplies or water supply on me.

And with every monster that I beat along the way, I managed to gain a few levels. By the time I reached the exit, I was at level 30.

I didn't bother to distribute the stats as I simply told Helmy to do what he thought best. But if I somehow gained skill points and was able to unlock a skill, I mentioned that he should notify me about it as I still want to pick which skill I want personally.

After walking for quite a long time, I finally reached the exit of the dungeon. Looking closely, there wasn't much light coming in which meant that it was night outside.

If I continued to walk, I would reach the settlement soon. The village that I stay with the rest of the soldier and the hero party before we head into this dungeon.

Even if it's late at night, I bet that anyone would notice if someone came out from the dungeon this late.

There aren't people who come here during nighttime as being around the dungeon at night is pretty dangerous. Even if it's dark now, the moonlight shines brightly so I doubt anyone would miss me.

As I walk away from the dungeon.

Yet I do feel a bit sad that I am the only one who survived and the rest of the soldiers perished due to our carelessness. But I'm sure they are proud that we can aid the heroes in retrieving their legendary heroic artifacts.

Their sacrifice isn't in vain as the heroes are finally able to defeat the demon army and the demon lord itself with the heroic artifact.

Thinking about it, it would be nice if I could talk to them again. For us to be drinking after our mission finishes and the war is over but... Regardless I felt, that what mattered now was for me to regroup with the hero's party.

After all, the king did order us the soldiers to protect the heroes and bring them back safely.

***

I arrived near the settlement entrance where I saw several torches burning bright.

And one of the guards guarding the gate recognized me immediately. "Wait! Aren't you one of the soldiers assigned to escort the heroes? Wait over there! I open up the gate!" He said that as rushed to open the gate for me.

I entered the settlement as soon as the gate was open for me.

The guards that open up the gate approach me after he closes up the gate. "I can't believe it, I thought you guys are already dead… I mean the hero's party did tell us that the soldiers had been killed by a golem."

Hearing that, I can't be surprised as it should have been expected. A simple soldier couldn't possibly defeat a golem. We aren't even in the knight's order, we are simply just a normal soldier.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
