Am I Alive!?

And just like that, we hit each other as I headbutt the incoming fist attack from the golem. I felt like my head was about to explode and that I was about to pass out but despite that.

I didn't stop and started to use the headbutt again toward the golem as I hoped the helmet could activate its buff the moment my head hit the golem.

Just when I thought that I would die a sudden blackout happened to me.

*Beep*

<Congratulations on killing the golem and leveling up!>

That's all that I hear before everything goes dark once again.

When I woke up, I was lying on the ground. And there was no sign of the golem anywhere around me.

It's a miracle that I survived, but what exactly happened here? How did I manage to kill the golem and why the hell am I still alive? Does that mean my plan works? I mean I did see that I level up, indicating I managed to kill the golem.

However, the question is how? I remember hitting the golem fist with a headbutt but I thought it would kill the both of us and the next thing I know. The helmet informed me that the golem was dead and that I leveled up.

"So, the helm. What happened after I lost consciousness?"

*Beep*

<You didn't lose your consciousness, instead, you were dead for 0.1 seconds and got back to life due the effect of leveling up.>

"Wait, it doesn't make any sense. I mean the level up would heal my wounds, but getting back to life for a second is impossible. How could it be possible? And did the level heal all of my wounds?"

*Beep*

<To answer your questions. Yes, you got back to life because of the level up and part it was I used my own force stop from being dead completely. Due that, some functions have been locked ability has sealed.>

"Hold on, why would it have been locked... you just share your life force with me and the next thing you say is that it's locked. How is that even possible?"

*Beep*

<That is because my life force, or what it called the system has been locked down due to user's death. That I am already linked with you, user. So sacrifice it's some of its functions in order use one skill that only a authority do. A revival skill.>

Some parts of the explanation don't make sense to me, might be because I am having difficulty to understand all of it.

But I think I get the gist of it. The helmet has a revival skill and its requirement is a tough one to fulfill. But I guess I am grateful for the helmet as I might already died because of that.

But when I think about it again... doesn't it mean I am immortal? As nothing would be able to kill me as I could revive infinitely.

Which prompted me to ask, "So this revival skill? Can it be used every time I die?"

*Beep*

<The revive skill could be triggered after a certain period of time the death user and it requires sacrifice system feature in order to activated. If dies without being revived, then system, helmet, will destroyed. Due that, helmet couldn't used by anyone else but whom had been given would only work properly for that particular user.>

"So, the helmet wouldn't be able to be used by anyone else, huh? Also, that means that you can't be destroyed."

*Beep*

<Yes. However, it would be best to return the system back its previous state and not use revive skill. As more users revival skill, harder is regain lost features.>

Hearing that, I was surprised to see that the revival skill has a lot of requirements and restrictions. It certainly bad for me if I ever use this skill again. Better try to not die in the future or else…

"Alright. So, helmy? What features of yours have been lost and what features have been locked?"

*Beep*

<Helmy? What's that... words not found in the system data. But to answer your question. Some of functions have been locked. The function that has locked is map.>

"That sucks. So, we don't have a map? And helmy... well that's your name. It would be bad if I call you helmet all the time. So, what's wrong with calling you Helmy?"

I don't really like the idea of calling it a helmet all of the time. Since it's a sentient being, I feel like it should have a name. But since it's called itself a helmet, Helmy ain't that bad of a name I say so myself.

And also since we are going to be stuck together, I think it should have a nickname that I could call.

*Beep*

<I see no problem. It would be fine to call me Helmy. Registering data… Complete.>

"Oh, great. And about the map function, does that mean I couldn't access the map functions anymore?" I ask that to Helmy.

*Beep*

<Access to the existing map would still be allowed, though a new update of and enemy tracking disabled.>

"Ah, I see!" I said that.

It seemed like it had become just a plain map. But it is still okay as if I couldn't access the map anymore. Navigating the dungeon would be a harder task.

I just need to be careful as I would encounter a trap or monster that could end my life. I don't know how deep I have fallen into the dungeon but since I survived… it shouldn't be that deep.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
