Misunderstanding

"No need to apologize for that... So what should I call you?"

So this man was indeed Elina's older brother, I assume that he would be a lot older. Because someone busy with paperwork usually is around the age of forty. But I guess I was completely wrong...

As by the look of it, it seems like Caen here was older by just a few digits only. I still don't know what Elina's real age was but it probably would be around the early twenties. So Caen must be around twenty-five.

"Just call me Caen, that's my name after all."

"Isn't that kinda-"

"Ineris isn't a noble family so it wouldn't be as rude as you think it would be... so Caen is fine."

"Okay then..."

I forgot about that as my mind kept telling me that they're a family of nobles based on their manner and clothes. It's confusing for me...

Caen then suddenly said my name, "Yei right?"

"Yes, my name is indeed Yei."

"Where do you come from actually? Your clothing seems unusual in this town, are you from another town far from here?"

"You're right, I do come from a faraway town."

Well, my answer was not that good as I couldn't possibly name a town in this world if I didn't know anything about it. I know I could just extract some town names that exist in the game but after knowing that some of the things had been changed.

I doubt that it would be a good idea for me to make up a story like that as it would surely turn against me one day. But I just hope that somehow Caen didn't know the actual place where I come from... as it would surely be a troublesome question to answer...

"So what's your business in the town, there's no way you would travel this far for nothing."

It's good for Caen not to ask the question that I didn't want to hear but somehow his other question was also kinda hard for me to answer... I need to think of a good story that somehow would be believable enough.

As I don't have much time to think, I just go with that.

"I just wanted to search for an opportunity in this town, as I am wanted to sell my service-"

Before I could say what I wanted to say, Caen interrupted me.

"By service, do you mean that you're going to do that kind of thing?"

What's this man talking about? What sort of thing he thinks I would do... Clearly, he misunderstood me, well I guess I just need to finish my sentence first as that would clear things up.

"I think you had gotten-"

Caen then put his hand on my shoulder which made me quite shocked, he looked me straight into my eyes as he then began to say something towards me.

"I can't let you do that! A girl should take care of herself... If you need a job, I am sure I could take you as a maid in this household. So there's no need for you to sell your body."

"Eh?!"

Caen clearly takes what I'm saying very wrongly... well that's because he doesn't hear until the end as he cut me off before I could even properly explain myself.

I then shook off Caen's hand from my shoulder as I looked towards him very seriously, "Listen! How could you just assume that before you hear the rest of what I am going to say... and of course I would not be that dumb to sell my body." I repeat once again in a very loud voice, "I will not sell my body at all!"

"Really?! So what about the thing when you said you're going to sell your service?"

"I did say that but what I was meaning to say was I was going to sell my leveling service to the people here."

"I see, it seems like I misunderstand all of this... Once again I apologize for all of this." Caen then paused for a while before continuing, "But what's this leveling service you're talking about, as I never heard of that kind of thing at all."

Of course, Caen doesn't know about this leveling service, I doubt that no one besides me knows what I'm talking about.

I did talk to Miya about this stuff before and based on what Miya had told me about. I could confirm that no one else has ever done this kind of thing. So basically I am the first one who would be doing this, a service that provides leveling up someone's level.

"It's-"

It seems like there's a lot of interruptions happening today...

Elina rushed out from the kitchen as she immediately walked towards where I and his brother were. She quickly pushed her brother far from me. Seeing that, I don't understand what's actually happening right now.

"What are you trying to do with my friends here!" Elina said that towards her brother.

"Nothing, we're just having a little chat-"

"Is that so!? So why do I hear Yei shout that she's not going to sell her body... explain that!"

Did I say that phrase that loud? I am aware that I did raise my voice a little bit but I do not think that Elina was able to hear that as we're in a different part of the house.

"Elina, listen... it's all just a misunderstanding between me and your friend Yei." Caen that looked at me.

Noticing the look that Caen gave me, I know that he's asking me to help explain what really happens. Well, I guess I had no choice as I wouldn't want their sibling's relationship to be broken because of me.

With that, I approached Elina and told her to calm down for a bit as I would explain everything that had happened while she's gone.

"Please tell me the truth, Yei, nothing will happen to you as I am here to protect you," Elina said to me.
