Fright

When we finally arrived at the place where the Eyes Crystal was located, I was quite surprised to learn that it was actually inside the place called Auslosha Temple... the place where Elina works and the townspeople go to pray towards God Auslosha.

As I thought it would be in a different place...

But I guess this is fine, as at least I could see what it looks like inside the Auslosha Temple. It was huge indeed and most of the area of this place was filled with flowers. It was quite relaxing here, I suppose the reason was the aroma of the flowers here... it managed to soothe my soul somehow.

Maybe not because of the flowers as this might be the power of Auslosha. Who knows...

"Elina? Why is the eye crystal in the temple? Should it be a different location..."

"I forgot to tell you, Yei. Only the people that work as an acolyte or above could activate the Eyes Crystal, so that's why it was inside the Temple."

"I understand that now... thanks for letting me know about that."

We walked towards a room which was guarded by two knights... Elina then told me to wait for a while as she needed to talk to the knights to allow us to enter the room which the Eyes Crystal was in.

As a person that likes knight's armor, I observed their armor as that was the only thing I could do while waiting for Elina to get permission. I noticed that the knights' armor and the town's guard armor were quite different in terms of quality.

From a glance, I could tell that the material that the knight armor was made from was steel, compared to the town's guard which was iron.

I wonder why there was a different division that is protecting this town... also why does the knight not lend a hand on the problem that the town is having right at the moment. Surely the knights could clear the Field of Wildflower and reduce the numbers of people getting kidnapped in this town.

After a few minutes, Elina returned to me and said that she had gotten permission to enter. The knights that are guarding the room smile towards the both of us when we're walking past them...

"Is the Eyes Crystal really that valuable which needed some knights to guard it?" I ask Elina.

"Of course it was valuable... it's the only thing that could check people's level." Elina paused for a bit, "Well there's also a scary story behind it but sadly we can't discuss it with the public..."

"So what's the point in telling me that... Are you trying to make me more curious?" I said that.

"Kinda but you could know the whole story if you willing to join the Auslosha Faith..."

"I see what you're trying to pull here... but I am sorry Yei. Not that interested in joining the Auslosha Faith at the moment."

"Why? Do you still believe in that God of yours... what's its name- Ah! God Neus, right?" Elina said that.

Can't believe that Elina still remembers that. When I thought back, I shouldn't have said that before... Well, there's a lot of mistakes that I had made. Surely I didn't think much when I said those things before, now I have to suffer all of the consequences.

But I suppose this is a lesson for me to be careful next time I speak up...

"Yes, I am a believer of Neus Faith... but know that it was not a cult or anything-"

"Sure, I believe you... because from your actions alone I know that your teachings are not something evil." Elina paused for a bit, "How about you telling the story of God Neus as-"

"How about next time? As I really wanted to get my level check."

That's all I could do to avoid making up more stories, of course in the games... There's a backstory of God Neus and surely I could use that. But when I realize that it would just make things worse, complicate stuff even more so it's best for me not to say a thing on this matter for now that is.

"Sure, just make sure to tell me when you have the free time as I love to hear about it."

The place where the eye crystal was... I was finally able to see it with my own eyes this time. Just like Elina's explanation earlier... it was indeed just an eyeball that was covered in crystal. But it seems like this was just a copy of a similar item inside the Chronicle Legacy, the Eyes Crystal just a crystal variant of it.

Yet the eyes were close somehow, I could see the eyes inside of it as the crystal was kinda see-through...

"So what's now?"

"Wait for a moment... I need to activate the Eyes Crystal first." Elina said.

She then approaches the Eyes Crystal, She raises her hand towards the Eyes Crystal as she starts the incantations... I then noticed that there's a symbol of Auslosha in the palm of her hand as the eyes slowly open up.

It just took a couple of seconds as Elina said that it was ready to be used now.

"Just stand in front of that thing and make sure to look at it... My job is to record your level and stats, everything that will appear soon."

This was the moment where one of my secrets would get revealed. My mind suddenly was filled with a lot of thoughts as I was kinda scared about what will happen next. If Elina decided to unfriend after this... I suppose that's fine as it might be better for me to do work things alone.

Somehow my legs wouldn't move as I wanted to... but I forced it anyway as I can't let this stuff be a secret anymore. Sooner or later, it would surely be revealed so it might be better to do it now.
