38. Reject Offer

"This is the military official in charge of this case," the guild official explained, stepping aside slightly to allow the woman a better view. "Lieutenant Lin."

Lieutenant Lin nodded at the guild official before turning her attention fully to Chu Yan. Her gaze was assessing, but there was a hint of approval in her eyes as she took in the sight of the young martial artist who had completed such a difficult mission.

"Chu Yan, correct?" Lieutenant Lin's voice was firm but not unkind. "You've done a great service by recovering these resources."

Chu Yan inclined his head respectfully. "Lieutenant Lin. Although the mission is completed, there seems to be some error in the information. The data state that Jin Rong is a late-stage second-layer martial artist, but apparently he used the resources not only to breakthrough to the third layer but to reach the late stage. Lieutenant Lin stepped closer, her fingers lightly brushing over the contents of the bundle. She inspected the resources and the corpses as she put her palm on the corpses, checking their conditions. After a moment, she straightened up, nodding to the guild official.

"No problem."

Chu Yan accepted the token with a slight bow of his head. It was a rare honor for an adventurer to receive such recognition from the military, and he understood the significance.

"Thank you, Lieutenant Lin," Chu Yan said, his voice steady.

Lieutenant Lin gave a small, approving smile. Afterward, she asked, "Are you interested in joining the military?" If you accept, the military will provide resources for you until you reach the peak stage martial artist realm. If your performance is good, the military can even provide the resources necessary for the Martial Master realm."

Hearing this, the guild official, besides Lieutenant Lin, glanced at Chu Yan and felt envied and jealous. For ordinary people like him, reaching Martial Artist realm already a dream that many people difficult to achieved.

As Chu Yan stepped out of the Adventurer Guild, the afternoon sun bathed the streets in a warm, golden light. After a short walk, Chu Yan arrived at their home, a modest residence on the outskirts of the city. 

As he entered the courtyard, he immediately noticed Chu Ying in the small backyard, her figure moving with precise, deliberate motions. She was practicing her martial forms as she worked to build the foundation needed to break through to the Martial Disciple realm.

Chu Yan stood at the edge of the yard for a moment, watching his sister training quietly.

After a few more minutes, Chu Ying finished her sequence with a deep exhale, her body slightly trembling from the exertion. She straightened up, wiping the sweat from her brow, and finally noticed her brother standing nearby.

"Big brother!" Chu Ying called out, a smile breaking across her face despite her fatigue as she quickly walked over to him.

"You've been working hard," Chu Yan said, his tone warm as he gently ruffled her hair. "How's your training coming along?"

Chu Ying nodded, her expression turning serious. "I'm getting closer, I can feel it. The Martial Disciple realm isn't far off now. But I still need to strengthen my foundation. I want to be as strong as you, brother."

Then, Chu Yan took out a bottle as he spoke, "This is an energy pill, perfect for a person who still builds their foundation. Take it one pill before and after the training. Inside this bottle are about 30 pills, perfect for 15 days of your training. Ff it's finished, tell me, I will give another bottle."

Taking the bottle, Chu Ying responded happily, "Thank you, Big brother. I will train hard to break through Martial Disciple realm."
