Booty Warrior

Leaving the coffee shop Ari was steaming at Tom's temerity.

Arriving back home she discarded of her empty coffee cup and the paper bag her cookie came in.

Heading into her room she removed her earphones and jumped onto her bed.

Phone in hand her simmering anger reached it's boiling point.

"How the fuck dare he?!" she shouted aloud.

Angrily murmuring to herself she tried to put her fury to one side and go about a normal day.

Scrolling through her phone she was left unamused by everything she saw online.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw her DMs with an unread message.

"Oh shit I didn't have noties on" she said under her breath as she clicked the direct message button.

[Cora: I don't know how to respond to this? U being fr?]

Emotionally exhausted she just typed whatever came to mind.

[Ari: Yeah]

[I'm the girl from the dream; I work for this company that sends people to help those with mental health problems and we just kinda fight your demons for you lol]

Hearing her stomach rumbling she set her phone down.

Arriving back to her room having eaten a second breakfast she was immediately glued back to her phone.

Going to the party group chat she scrolled through the plethora of texts sent around.

"Yeah I'm not reading all that" she mumbled to herself.

Closing the group chat she opened her chat with Dave.

[Ari: Hey]

[We both know Alex is going to the party meaning you're going so what's up is there a theme or something?]

[Dave: *straight faced emoji*]

[Ari: *straight faced emoji* what?]

[Dave: why would I go just cause Alex is going]

[Ari: *cry laugh emoji* Hi Alex]

[Dave: ugh how u know]

[Ari: Dave's a little geek he doesn't miss out punctuations and he starts every sentence with a capital letter *smiling face emoji*]

[Dave: So do you *raised eyebrow emoji*]

[Ari: Yeah so I can call him a little four eyed virgin cause I'm a lil geeko too *nerdy face emoji*]

[Anyway where is he?]

[Dave: oh he's right here on the couch with me. He gave me his phone when u texted]

[Ari: Ouch is baby girl mad at me *cry face emoji*]

[Dave: Nah he just gave me his phone he's gaming rn]

[Ari: Okay tell him he's a lil geeko and tell me the deets about the party lol *laughing emoji*]

[Dave: ngl surprised you're going Brooks]

[Ari: people change and who knows maybe I won't smack someone with a ladle this time]

[Dave: Oh yeah you did that *cry laugh emoji*]

[Ari: No one calls my friend a slur and doesn't get smacked up *shrug emoji*]

[Dave: lol thanks ik it was over Dave but he loves telling that story]

[Ari: That's actually great to hear]

[Now about the party, come on I know u going and you already got everything ready]

[So gimme the summary]

[Dave: Okay it's at his parents beach house and he said it's Bali themed but he has no idea what that means]

[Ari: huh?]

[Dave: He said Bali themed and then he went on to say there's gonna be tiki torches, Puerto Rican music and food that's definitely from the Caribbean]

[This guy's dad basically owns half the city and he's gonna inherit it one day *straight faced emoji*]

[Ari: Well you're going to his party so he's doing something right *cry laugh emoji*]

[Dave: don't get me wrong all that stuff goes together and all but it's all also North America and Bali is in Asia]

[Ari: Bet no one's said that to his face tho]

[Dave: facts everyone's gassing him up and licking his ass]

[Ari: Speaking of licking ass how are you?]

[Dave: Wym *crying emoji*]

[Ari: Come on *straight faced emoji*]

[Dave: no comment]

[Ari: Yeah stay quiet booty warrior]

[But on the real thanks ace!]

[Dave: Np Brooks *salute emoji*]

Setting her phone down Ari looked directly ahead to her closet.

Walking right up to it she pulled the doors open.

Looking at the top shelf she sighed and got on the tips of her toes reaching for an exposed small black leg.

Able to get two fingers on it she pulled down a mountain of clothing down with it.

Left stood under a pile of old clothing Ari held her old stuffed toy Buttons in her hand.

Slapping the dust off of him, she walked out of the pile of clothes looking the toy up and down.

Moving her keyboard to one side she placed him on the desk and went to her father's room.

Going to his closet she looked down at some large colorful boxes

Moving them over she took out a powder blue metallic box positioned behind them.

Taking the box back go her room she opened it and placed it on her desk.

Looking at the sewing instruments inside of it she immediately felt stumped.

Looking at a hole on the side of Buttons' torso and the loose black button he had for a left eye coming off the seams she looked at the needles, buttons, tapes and sewing threads fully aware she had no clue what she was doing.

Loading up a sewing tutorial on her phone she placed it on her desk and watched it repeatedly until she grew tired of the instructors voice.

For several minutes and through multiple swears caused by stabbing herself with the needle Ari had managed to patch up Buttons to a presentable extent.

"Um... hey. I know you said you're an extension of my mind and stuff so you not actually alive but... I kinda just need to talk to someone so guess I'll talk to myself about this" Ari said through a yawn.

"Fuck guess I'm still pretty tired, I don't actually know how much sleep I'm getting. This whole thing is barely three days old and I'm tired already" she said rubbing her eyes.

"I know I'm doing all this so I can find Zo in one of these dreams but that's not even guaranteed. On top of all that even if I do find her and get her back here what happens, she'll still be pregnant by a guy who wants nothing to do with the baby or her seemingly" she said looking at Buttons inanimate face.

"Would she even want to come back. I mean she jumped for a reason, then again I guess they all did" Ari said as her gaze dropped.
