Chapter 270: Dongfang family dinner

Dongfang Qi Ze's car passed through the main residence's gate and everyone was informed via the walkie talkie. The head steward rush to wait in front of the entrance. When he saw the car, he put a smile on his face.

The car stop and Assistant Long come out first, giving a signal to the head steward that the young master is in a very bad mood. The head steward nod and stand quietly at the side.

"Young master, we are here." Assistant Long open the back door and inform Dongfang Qi Ze. The head steward saw it and the young master really look very tired. Did they get attacked on the way here? Or did the workload at the company too much?

Dongfang Qi Ze open his eyes and walk out of the car with expressionless face. He is usually expressionless but he seems to be angry too today, the aura around him is much more scary than usual. The head steward know when not to open his mouth so he just escort the young master quietly to the dining hall.

Once they enter the spacious dining hall, the merry conversation tone down a bit and the people sitting unconsciously try to steal glances at Dongfang Qi Ze but he didn't seems to see any of them. He walk towards the empty seat on the right side of the main seat. The main seat is still empty so he didn't even mind to be polite.

He is pissed off now and currently wrecking his brain on how to coax Bai Yi Yang. Not only a short term solution but he need to let her willingly accept his way. He can act pitiful and use the incident with loan sharks as excuse again but he is really unwilling to use this trick again because that is Qi Sheng's story. Just now, she called him Qi Sheng and he snap out. Even if she use that name to call him, when she found out the truth, he wanted that only the name and identity is the lie and the rest is himself.

"Ah Ze? Ah Ze?" Someone called Dongfang Qi Ze when he is concentrating, this makes him annoyed and glare at the voice owner. It was actually his little 6th uncle, Dongfang Zhen. Dongfang Zhen is his grandfather's 6th son born from Lan Yue, the current Old Madam of the Dongfang family. Dongfang Zhen is younger than him, younger by 1 year and his 7th aunt is also very young, only 19 years old. This two may be his uncle and aunt in name but they followed Dongfang Qi Ze around like his other younger cousins.

"What?" Dongfang Qi Ze didn't dislike this little uncle of his but doesn't mean he like him too. What more, he disturbed his thought just now.

Dongfang Zhen own an entertainment company under Dongfang Group. He is doing quite well but amongst many of the company under Dongfang Group, it wasn't very significant. Now, he is also working as an artist on top of being his own company's CEO.

"I opened a new nightclub, why don't we all head there after this boring dinner? Only we young people." Dongfang Zhen said with a naughty grin.

The Dongfang family have very good looking genes, the children is all very good looking. Dongfang Zhen took a lot of his mother's feminine features, his looks is more towards beautiful kinda handsome.

"Not interested." Dongfang Qi Ze didn't even think before rejecting. He never like that kind of place at the first place.

"Come on. You can just show your face and return home. Just take this as helping your little uncle, alright?" Dongfang Zhen said again.

Amongst Dongfang Qi Ze's aunts and uncles, this Dongfang Zhen is the most immune with his deadly stare. He is the only one who is not afraid of Dongfang Qi Ze and treat him as a peers instead of a superior. A big reason is probably because Dongfang Qi Ze was never interested with his entertainment company and his business so he is not afraid that Dongfang Qi Ze will find fault with his management.

The other aunts and uncles all hold positions directly under him or they hold an important subsidiary company. As for the cousins, there is no need to mention, they all treat Dongfang Qi Ze as their ancestor instead of cousin.

"Do you want your newly open club to close down the same day it opens?" Dongfang Qi Ze ask with a sneer and Dongfang Zhen swallowed hard. Well, that was dangerous.

Since Dongfang Qi Ze have given his warning, Dongfang Zhen didn't pester him anymore and nobody try to talk to Dongfang Qi Ze again. Everyone is paying attention to Dongfang Liu who is semi bald, his hair is still growing so he look like a delinquent rather than his usual flirty playboy vibe.

Talking about Dongfang Liu, he was sent to the military camp by his grandfather but Dongfang Qi Ze have something to do with it. He mentioned that when a male member of their family lack discipline, they will be sent into the military camp to be disciplined. Even Dongfang Qi Ze have trained with the military for more than half a year to strengthen his body and learn some fighting skills.

So, Dongfang Li Ming was reminded of this and he send Dongfang Liu as an example for the unruly youngsters. Have to say, Dongfang Liu is really the most unruly ones amongst the younger ones these few years, his negative news came out nonstop, that's why he became the first example for the other youngsters after causing troubles nonstop. He is actually back now.

Dongfang Qi Ze look at the 17 years old teenager and Dongfang Liu who try to be invisible in front of this scary cousin of his is stunned. Did he heard about the news that he was caught in a hotel again? If yes, then he is surely a dead meat. He may have to return to that hellish military camp again.

"Ah Ze ge." Dongfang Liu become timid like a good boy and nod at Dongfang Qi Ze but he was ignored. He is actually happy that he didn't say anything about him this time.

Dongfang Qi Ze's voice carry a very heavy weight in this house, he can even beat the old man if he argue a bit. So, this older cousin should never be offended.

Dongfang Qi Ze notice that there are 2 more empty seats there today, other than the one belonged to Dongfang Li Ming. He guessed his eldest cousin and his wife is also here.

The eldest grandson of the Dongfang family is Dongfang Yi's second son, Dongfang Lin. He is exactly Natalie Cui's husband.

Dongfang Yi have an oldest son but that oldest son need to take on the surname Li so he wasn't considered the eldest grandson of Dongfang family even if he actually is. Of course since their Dongfang family is more patriarchal, Dongfang Yi is the eldest but in term of being the favourite child of Dongfang Li Ming, she is only at the 2nd place.

When Dongfang Qi Ze's father who was the old man's favourite child was alive, Dongfang Yi was at 3rd place. If not because Dongfang Qi Ze is so outstanding, the group would have fall to Dongfang Min, the 2nd eldest son.

Dongfang Min have a messy personal life outside but in terms of business management, he is really not bad. Amongst Dongfang Li Ming's remaining children, he is the most promising. Of course now that Dongfang Qi Ze is here, they didn't get to enter the old man's eyes.

Not long after, Dongfang Li Ming came into the dining hall while laughing, Dongfang Lin and his wife is following behind him. They seems to have a great conversation since the old man is in a good mood. Dongfang Yi looks quite pleased that her son's can make the old man happy, she also pulled her daughter-in-law Natalie Cui to sit next to her. Natalie Cui is a career oriented woman, what more she will be the future heiress of the Cui family business, Dongfang Yi adores her the most out of her two daughter-in-law. Her eldest son is also born by her but his surname is different and naturally he is much closer to her husband's family, the Li. Her capable second son Dongfang Lin may be residing in City Nan too but he carries the same surname as her, how can she don't get biased.

"Ah Lin did his project well this time, you all young people should follow his footsteps and learn from him." Dongfang Li Ming said to his group of grandchildren and they all answer with a 'yes' like it is natural.

"Dad, didn't I tell you Ah Lin will surely do it well. City Nan have many big powers but with Natalie there with Ah Lin, we don't have to worry." Dongfang Yi said and smile at Natalie Cui. Natalie Cui didn't show much expression on her face, she just gave a business smile to her mother-in-law. Don't think that she don't know, this ambitious mother-in-law of her is using her husband to gain more favour from the Dongfang Old Master.

"What's so great about expanding a successful business to another city.." Lan Yue mumble and the old master glare at her before faking a cough. They seems to have fought, usually it is about Lan Yue's only son, Dongfang Zhen.

"Then what's not great about it? Each place have their own power, Ah Lin managed to enter a place with old power, I can't be more happier." Dongfang Li Ming said to his wife and she humphed in response.

"Mom, dad. Can you stop fighting at the dinner table? We are tired of it." Dongfang Zhen said, he looks quite embarrassed. This two people is old but they fought just like young couple. What more there are 3 whole generation sitting on this table.

"Will mom be like this if you are capable like your older brothers and sisters? You can't even compare to your nieces and nephews." Lan Yue scold Dongfang Zhen is response.

"Why did it suddenly me that is at fault? I am doing very well. If not because of 5th older sister's brand, I would be endorsing international luxurious brand now." Dongfang Zhen said. He is the exclusive endorsers of Dongfang Qin's high fashion luxury brand now so he is actually contributing a lot too.

"See, see. This is why he is too frustrating..." Lan Yue said and Dongfang Li Ming told her to shut up and start eating.

Dongfang Qi Ze is used to this, he can't relate to their internal rivalry. He is always the solitary one and the people on this table usually don't dare to even bump shoulder head on with him, his life in this family is quite peaceful but it was also frustrating to have this kind of cold blooded family. The feeling is like living in a battlefield.

"Why are you suddenly taking 1 week holiday?" The people was chatting about this and that until Dongfang Li Ming ask this question to Dongfang Qi Ze who never say a word and just keep eating like he usually is. Everyone stop talking and look.

"Personal business." Dongfang Qi Ze answer with his standard answer when he don't want to talk in details. People are used to hearing him say personal business here and there when in truth, he just don't want to tell them what he is up to.

"It's good to have vacation once in a while. Country F have good sceneries and their food is great too. While at that, you should hang out with some of your friends. Old Rong's granddaughter Wang Qing also have been to Country F, why don't I call Old Rong to ask his granddaughter to show you around?" Dongfang Li Ming said meaningfully.

Dongfang Qi Ze may be too focus on work, he never heard him went out with any girls before. Even if he end up not liking Rong Wang Qing, Dongfang Li Ming wanted his precious grandson to start hanging out with girls. Let this be the beginning. His sons and other grandsons don't have him to interfere when it comes to women, they even cause too many troubles because of women, but Dongfang Qi Ze is just different.

"Why did you look into my schedule?" Dongfang Qi Ze put down his chopsticks and said coldly. He didn't care about the rest of the words and only know that his grandfather know that he have scheduled a flight to Country F. Actually this is a cover, he will send Qi Sheng in his place while he spent 1 week with Bai Yi Yang in the country. He know that his grandfather's still have a lot of power, but he rarely say it out loud that he knows what he is doing behind to everyone.

"That is not important. Since you are on vacation, I will let some young people accompany you and..." Dongfang Li Ming also don't think he did anything wrong. Can't he know about his own grandson's vacation?

"No thanks. And I will appreciate it if you don't look into this kind of things again. This words also apply to everyone else." Dongfang Qi Ze wipe his mouth with the napkin as he said this. After that, he stood up and ready to leave.

"What do you mean? Can't your grandfather know about where you are going for vacation now?! Can't you see that I just care about your wellbeing?" Dongfang Li Ming said unhappily, he stopped eating too and the room become tense.

"Care? I don't dare to accept them. Old master, continue eating. I can't stay longer, afraid that I will get indigestion." Dongfang Qi Ze nod at Dongfang Li Ming and strode away.

People was silent and they slowly start moving their chopsticks without saying anything. Dongfang Li Ming frown but he didn't say anything anymore, even Lan Yue don't dare to comment anything. If it were other, she will dare to mock but not Dongfang Qi Ze, especially time like this.

"Dad, you shouldn't have spy on his private life. I would have hated it too." The brave Dongfang Zhen was the one who first say anything about this.

"How can you call that spying? I am his grandfather!" Dongfang Li Ming scold his youngest son. Actually, he was also a bit sad that his favourite grandson look at him like that.

"Anyway, you should ask him personally if you are curious. Not planting people around him to get info." Dongfang Zhen shrugged his shoulder and said. He actually wanted to roll his eyes. No wonder Ah Ze is so annoyed here.

"He is purposely going against me. That ungrateful brat." Dongfang Li Ming humphed and continue to eat.

Have to say, the old man have too much ego. He knows he is in the wrong but he just refuse to admits it. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
