Chapter 178: Heading to Country S

Bai Yi Chen help Bai Yi Yang carry her luggage to the Chemistry Lab when they arrived at school. Sir Austin and Li Jian Yu is also there and there are a bunch of luggage at the area too. They chat a bit before heading to the assembly site.

The plan today is to go by bus to City Nan Airport at 10.00 am, their flights is at 1.25 pm. They will still have time if the go here by 10.00 am. So, they can only study for the first period before they need to leave.

"Jian Yu was worried that you will bring two luggage like Ruby." Sir Austin said to Bai Yi Yang with a chuckle.

"Then I should have bought more." Bai Yi Yang joke back.

"I just don't want you guys to suffer. When you make a team next year, pick more boys." Li Jian Yu said.

"How can gender be the picking criteria? It's the ability." Bai Yi Yang said.

"I know..I am just saying this.." Li Jian Yu is like the little brother of the group even though he is the oldest. Wang Yi Lin is still okay, but Ruby usually treat him like a little brother while calling him 'senior'. Ruby really have strong character that it scares Li Jian Yu.

When they arrived at the assembly site, it is almost starting. They all returned to their line and Sir Austin sit with the teachers. The contents of the assembly is almost the same as previous one, it also ended quickly.

"I will text you often." Bai Yi Chen said as they head back to classroom. He purposely mess up her hair which received a glare from Bai Yi Yang.

"Don't annoy me. Just take care of the other well." Bai Yi Yang said as she retied her hair.

"Okay." Bai Yi Chen nod.

When they enter the classroom, Bai Yi Yang is immediately surrounded by people, asking her when she will leave and so on. That's when Mr.Ling comes in to take attendance and collect mobile phone. Bai Yi Yang come forward and said that she will leave after the 1st period so she won't be handing out her phone. Mr.Ling agree with that and said a few bunch of advices to her. Bai Yi Yang nod and return to her seat.

Just like what she said, after the first period ended, she stood up before the teacher comes in. She ran to Bai Yi Chen seat to say goodbye before waving at the rest of the classmates and walk out of the classroom. She mouth a goodbye towards Su Long when she passed by his table.

The R&D team had gathered before 9.15 am, the principal is also there talking to them, giving uplifting words and told them to do their best. After that, the female teacher of R&D club also come forward to brief them about the stuff.

"This luggage is where your outfits are, make sure not to forget it. I already tagged it with our school's name and Sir Austin's phone number. Then the boxes here is for the booth, you can't forget about it. And here is your allowance, when you arrive there, don't forget to exchange it to local money, including the money that you need there." The teacher hand over an envelope to each of them.

"How much is the allowance Miss?" Ruby ask mischievously. Actually they know that the allowance is 5,000 yuan each person. As for the rest of the budget, it can be used as their additional fees and can be used for the R&D club if there is something left after the trip. 5,000 yuan is a lot for high schoolers like them, of course in Bai Yi Yang eyes who spends thousands in one sitting of shopping does find it that much.

After the briefing from the female teacher, they finally get ready to leave to the airport. Now is only 9.43 am but it is always better to go early than late. What more, they have a few luggage with them, so they may need some times at the airport. Most of them have used domestic flight before, only between cities in their country, only Sir Austin and Bai Yi Yang have the experience of using international flight which is more strict.

Ruby was excited at first in the bus, she chat with the school bus driver then to the female teacher, she even ask the driver to put on some music. As for the rest, they chat but they weren't as enthusiastic is Ruby. And there is something else, Wang Yi Lin have a car sickness. She was quiet along the way, the first 30 minutes was fine, but then she started feeling dizzy and the female teacher can only give her medicine.

"Not really, I heard you did well?" Li Jian Yu said to Bai Yi Yang. He was talking about how he did in the Mathematics Olympiad. Sir Austin suddenly asked about that so they are talking about it now.

"I was struggling with the last two questions but the rest was okay. Jian Yu, I heard you got bronze last year." Bai Yi Yang said. Right, they already decided to call each other more casually, well mainly because even though Ruby and Bai Yi Yang is younger 1 or 2 years, they really don't seems like that. Especially the wilful Ruby.

"That was last year. I am not sure about this year." Li Jian Yu laugh.

"No problem. I believe in both of you. If you didn't do well, you have something else that you can brag about in the future." Sir Austin said, patting Li Jian Yu shoulder. Sir Austin is too happy with this result of their research, so he is always in good mood now.

"Talking about this trip. Sir, how about your wife and children? Who will take care of them?" Li Jian Yu ask. Sir Austin wife is a local and 2 daughters in primary school, they stay in the next town. Sir Austin had shown their pictures before. The two girls doesn't go to QiYing, they go to a place closer to home.

"That..my wife and the two kids return to my wife's hometown in City Bei. They are the one who leave me alone actually. They leave yesterday and will not return until this Saturday." Sir Austin said laughing.

"Sir Austin, your wife is from City Bei?" Ruby An suddenly join the conversation. She sat at an empty seat nearby.

"Same with Yi Yang then? Yi Yang, last time you said that your ancestral home is at City Bei right?" Ruby An add.

"Yes." Bai Yi Yang nod.

"Ah, what a small world. What is your father's name? Maybe my wife has heard it before?" Sir Austin ask. This is common for people to ask parents or grandparents name when they know that they are from the same place, just in case they recognise each other.

"My father's name was Bai Jian Ping, he was a teacher but he already passed away 2 years ago." Bai Yi Yang said with a small smile. This information shocked everyone. Even the female teacher turn around for a while before quickly pretending not to hear it.

Bai Yi Yang seems like someone who came from a comfortable family background, secretly they even think that Bai Yi Yang family has more money than all of them. The three of them have comfortable family background but they don't necessarily have what Bai Yi Yang have, for example her laptop or latest model smartphone. Then take her gifts for example, it's not something that they can afford to give people, unlike Bai Yi Yang. Who knows that she actually don't have a father.

"My mother passed away too. Both of them was in a road traffic accident. It's only me and my siblings now." Bai Yi Yang said before they can ask.

Actually, she never wanted to hide this from her teammates. The research team is one of her favourite and closest team, she also know about each of their families, not in details but at least she knows what their parents do, how many siblings they have and so on. But she never take initiative to talk about her family, so none of them know. Well, of course they know about Bai Yi Chen and her bunch of younger siblings

"Yi Yang, why didn't you tell us?" Sir Austin said. He is feeling sympathetic and guilty.

"I wasn't hiding it purposely, I just haven't found the right time to tell it. It has been 2 years so we siblings already move on, we are fine now." Bai Yi Yang smile.

The three people immediately sigh in relief, Bai Yi Yang doesn't seems t be lying, if she said it like this, then she must have really move on.

"Then, you moved here two years ago because of that?" Ruby An ask. Of course she knows about all of Bai Yi Yang gossip in school now, including her and her twin mysterious school transfer in the middle of semester two years ago.

"Yes. The old place and school is not suitable for us anymore, that's why we move here. This place is actually my mother's hometown." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Then last time, the one who sent you to City Nan? Is she your relatives?" Li Jian Yu ask. That time, Bai Yi Yang said that she will stay at other place with her family, they assume that it was her parents.

"Yes. Actually, only the 5 of us siblings are staying together, they are distant relatives that helps us a lot." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Then, how did the 5 of you survived all these time if your father's family is in City Bei and only have distant relatives here?" Ruby An ask.

"My parents left some insurance money, it was tough at the beginning but now our family has picked up the pace. We have fixed income from the orchard I told you about and also some other additional income." Bai Yi Yang said. The orchard is not a secret now, the Theatre club members know about it, so of course it spread to the people among their circle.

"Well, that is true." Ruby An nod.

"Next time, you shouldn't hide things like this. No wonder it was Mr.Ling signature in your consent paper, so there is thing like this." Sir Austin said.

Each students are required to get sign from their parents or guardian for every school activity, but in Bai Yi Yang letter, it was her homeroom teacher Mr.Ling who signed it for her.

"There are no other thing Sir." Bai Yi Yang smile.

"I know that you are independent, but I am here, other teachers in school is also there. Don't be shy if there is something that you need help with." Sir Austin sigh. What a pitiful child, he thought. Bai Yi Yang is always excellent in things she do, who knows that she have this sad backstory of her.

The journey to the airport was chat about their family. Now that Bai Yi has opened up about her family, she also talked a lot about her siblings and the mountain. She never know that she was this talkative before towards stranger, maybe because she has opened up her heart towards them. So, it was only the sleeping Wang Yi Lin who still didn't know a thing.

When they arrived at the airport, it was only 11.23 am, Sir Austin who have used a lot of flights guide them. First, they went to the counter to drop off their luggage, as for their boarding pass, they already printed it in advance. The process is done within 15 minutes, they still have more than 30 minutes before the boarding time. They were going to grab some lunch but they will have lunch provided in flight later, so they decided to have light food after passing through the checkpoints.
