First Night

I sat at the boarding area while waiting for his message if he got home already. Roia, Beauty and Mika were with me while Maybelyn will come with the earliest flight tomorrow.

"Hey Sachie what's wrong?" Roia asked.

"Its kinda hard to leave them..." I answered while checking my phone for any messages.

"The baby or the dad?" Mika teased.

I frowned they were like this ever since I told them about my situation. They kept on pestering me because of the first month picture of the three of us.

My phong suddenly rang and I felt my mood suddey lit up. "Hello! Home already?" I can feel Beauty nudging me on my sides while giving me a different kind of smile.

"Yeah. Kenji fell asleep while on our way home. I'm now changing his clothes and gonna place him beside me."

"Don't forget to put pillows you know Kenji moves a lot."

"I know. I know. Looks like your friends are teasing you" I motioned them to keep quiet since these girls are giggling but they just laughed at me.

"Don't mind them. Are you going to sleep now?"

"Hmmm... I won't be able to sleep not unless you arrived at your hotel already." I can't help but smile at his thoughtful side I'm experiencing right now.

"You can go to sleep if you're sleepy already. I'll be fine. I know you're tired." Well I actually want him to wait for me but at the same time I want him to rest. I heard him yawn. How can this sleepy head wait for me?

"Maybe I'll take a nap by the time you board the plane. Just give me a text when you arrive and call me when you are at the hotel already."

"Aye Aye Captain!" I heard him chuckle on the other side of the line.

"Our home feels empty without you..." Is he expressing his sadness right now. "Don't forget to call me I can hear your boarding announcement now."

"Give Kenji a goodnight kiss for me okay? Go take a nap. I'll message you later."

"Take care Sachie and have a safe flight."

"Thank you..." then I pressed the end button.

"Just one call and this girl is happy again." Roia commented. I rolled my eyes at her. They love teasing me especially when Reeve comes into the picture.

"It feels nice to be in love" Mika placed her hands on her heart.

"Who's in love with who?" I asked.

"YOU!" The trio answered.

"Let's line up" I changed the topic. They won't stop not unless I do something.

I sat on my assigned window seat beside me was Mika while the other two was on the other side. I opened my phone and looked at our recent photo for a while. Oh man so this is how it feels to be away from your little world. I tapped the flight mode and kept my phone on Reeve's jacket. I kept the jacket closer to me and I can smell his scent from it and closed my eyes to sleep.

After one hour and fifteen minutes flight we already arrived at the place known as "The gateway to a thousand journeys." While waiting for my baggage I took my phone and started texting Reeve that we already arrived. I kept it back in the pocket when it suddenly vibrated.

I took my phone again and saw his name on my lock screen. He sent me a smiley emoji with a call me when you get to the hotel. I was about to type a reply when it rang.

"Hello?"

"How was your flight?"

"It was good I guess. I was asleep though. I thought you were asleep already?"

"I can't sleep. I was watching a movie now."

"You got your luggage?"

"Yeah I can see it now"

"Okay. Call me when you're at the hotel okay? Bye."

"Okay. Call you later." I tapped the end button and then looked at my phone for a while before keeping it back at my pocket.

"Callmates now?" Mika was giving me this crazy look.

"He's monitoring you now? Level up status?" Beauty added.

"Give us updates of your status!" Roia demanded jokingly.

"We are still the same. We are there for each other and the baby. Nothing more and nothing less..." I answered casually.

"I refuse to believe that. I know you can feel it but you are just afraid to admit it." said Roia.

"I don't want things to change and start to get awkward. It'll be hard for the both of us." I got in inside the van waiting for us.

"Everything has changed you know" Mika sat beside me and gave me a meaningful look.

I knew what she meant. There are new changes recently but at the same time it felt normal. Him beinh there is normal. Reeve living on the same roof with me feels like normal. Reeve cooking and taking care of me feels normal but at the same time I can't help but assume that some things are changing. Maybe because we are getting closer and more open with each other.

Our accommodation was a resort with a beach. After checking-in the room attendant brought us to our rooms. We are on twin sharing per room. My roommate was Roia while adjacent to our room was Mika and Beauty and beside them was Maybelyn with another co-worker.

After arranging some of my stuff I took my phone and gave him a call. He answered after the fourth ring. I almost thought that he was asleep.

"Hello?"

"I'm at my room now"

"Good. How was it?"

"Very nice but I guess I'll see the view tomorrow morning"

"I was checking on Kenji so I wasn't able to answer right away."

"It's okay. I thought you were asleep."

"I can sleep now cause I know you arrived safe and sound. I'm at ease."

"Are you worried?"

"Of course. You are at another place right now." I felt like my mind was blank I couldn't find the words to say. "I bet you're tired. I'll let you go. Good night Sachie."

"You go to sleep okay? Good night Reeve."

I laid on the bed and stared at ceiling. I wanted to talk to him more.

His voice makes me feel at home.

I'm missing home right now...
