Chapter 1: Prologue

[The Advent of Magic].

A novel set in a traditional fantasy world.

A fantasy world with fantastic beasts to slay, mythical creatures to discover, thrilling adventures to be had... But of the elements of a stereotypical fantasy setting, one thing was different.

This world did not allow magic.

More precisely, this world did not allow humans to practice magic.

Most humans simply just weren't capable of using magic, and of the few that were, they didn't dare to; magic in almost any form was seen as sorcery.

[The Advent of Magic] follows the story of the two protagonists Faine Solant and Melia Fugo who unwittingly gain the ability to use magic.

And I, Noah McAlistair, have reincarnated into this world.

However, I wasn't reincarnated as an important character, and not even as a side character... I was placed into the body of a local low-life thief.

The problem is that this thief was mentioned just a few times in the early chapters of the novel, meaning I know almost nothing about him.

The bigger problem is that, despite living a life as a law-abiding student, I've been handed the life of this serial criminal who seems to have been involved with dangerous people.

As if it wasn't bad enough that I don't know anything about this despicable thief, I'm being hunted by law enforcement as well as other criminals.

I'm not cut out for this at all.
