A storm is coming

3 days ago in Dr.Sakaki's office

"Greetings again Warden Rodrigo." Paylor said.

"Hello Director, what is the status of the inmate?" the warden asked.

"Straight to the point. Is that really why you called me though? I didn't think you worried for the boy." Paylor teased.

"It's my business to know, he's my prisoner. Especially when a branch requests a long-term stay. It's common for a Max. Security god-eater to even get such requests, but no one wants supermax god-eaters for more than a day." Rodrigo explained fair enough.

"I think I've taken a liking as all, but there's no harm in informing you of how he's been." Sakaki said.

"Every day I have him a tight leash, his ability to dispatch Psions have left him indisposable. My god-eaters have him under surveillance every day." Paylor said, almost sounding serious.

Kanon, Erina, and even Kota would interact with the inmate on daily basis. For training, eating, missions, and simply spending time together. This was a fact.

"And?" Rodrigo asked.

"I also have my people check his room often, and they nary leave anything unchecked. I make sure they stay if hours if need be." Paylor said.

Kanon and Erina had access to come and go from Sano's room when it wasn't locked. Kanon would often cook for him and Erina would come by to hang out or leave snacks on his dresser. The inmate had once caught the two napping on his couch. This was also a fact.

"I even have two agents stationed by his room for any possible contingencies. So while he doesn't have that helmet on anymore, he's more than secure." Sakaki added with a fringe smile.

Hibari and Mutsumi were Sano's neighbors. Their rooms were along the same hall as his and they shared the elevator often. This was among the facts.

"I guess I underestimate you, doctor, forgive my discourtesy." Rodrigo said.

"Yes, you'll find I'm more than meets the eye." Sakaki devilishly smiled at Rodrigo's screen.

"Let me get straight to the point. I have received word my people FINALLY got through to your sector. This Black Plague is far beyond a nuisance. Then there's the Red Rain and Psion Aragami, I don't know how you keep that branch standing. The majority of Fenrir consider it dead." Rodrigo said.

"You'll find the Far East is also more than meets the eye, especially with the addition of the Blood Squadron. As for your people, what are they coming for again? I believe your personnel claimed the remains of the pilots already." Sakaki said typing on another screen.

"This is for Inmate 1103's replacement helm. Along with one lock." Rodrigo said.

"Oh, I see." Sakaki said mundanely.

"Once you contract an inmate, they're in the custody of the branch, but you have to remember Director that helmet was never to supposed to come off. He's still dangerous and I have my responsibilities. Once my people come in you'll have that helmet handy to properly discipline him without exposure to your people. If there is anything you'd like to ask before then, please ask." Rodrigo said very diligently.

"For the sake of containing the infection, I can't guarantee how quickly your people can get here. When did they say they would arrive?" the doctor asked.

"3 days, at least with the current forecast." Rodrigo answered.

"Ah yes, we're predicting at least two days. It will basically take a week for them to get here, but possibly two weeks to ensure their safety out." Sakaki explained.

"Such is the environment of an epidemic." Rodrigo said with a sigh.

"That being said, I do have one more question." Paylor said.

"What is that?" Rodrigo asked.

"The more you talk about him, the more you seem...frightened. Are you afraid of the inmate good sir?" Sakaki asked. The tone was so polite it was degrading to the receiver.

Rodrigo gave no answer.

"(Oh?)" Sakaki thought with intrigue.

"My people will arrive in the next 3 days, they'll drop off the item and if you wish, administer it to the inmate themselves. Otherwise, that's all I wanted to call you for. Signing off." Rodrigo's screen vanished.

"I'll be sure to receive them." Sakaki said to the empty space.

Current time

Sakaki slacked down in his chair. Another day of finding no cure. The Black Plague would continue another week longer. Maybe another year...

"(If only I could dedicate myself to solely the labwork again!)" Sakaki thought with frustration. With his duties to the Far East he couldn't play scientist like he used to, this unwilling director was stretched thin.

The red rain, infection containment, treatment, god-eater management, god-arc management, maintaining the aragami wall, were his daily duties now. The scientist couldn't hold to one interest anymore.

"(Tsubaki why did you make me take this job!?)" Paylor thought as he pulled his hair out. As he looked down at his desk he saw the disk that housed the inmate's profile.

With a heavy sigh, he picked it up and inserted it into a drawer in his desk.

"Mr.Shimazaki...if you had a choice would you stay with us? A real choice?" Paylor thought aloud.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"Ooooof." Sakaki wrung out his shoulders and started typing into the keyboard.

"What's this?" Sakaki brought up the map and noted the red dot.

RING RING RING

The red dot on the screen suddenly had prompts popping left and right to the doctor's surprise.

"That can't be good." Sakaki thought aloud. As he inspected the screens a broadcast erupted from his radio.

Attention Far East this is Hibari Takeda, Red Rain has formed over the horizon of the Den's wall, if you have not returned home or found a nearby shelter hurry and do so now. This is the last warning given before the Red Rain starts moving, please get to safety. Hibari out.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

"This is the Fenir Dept. of Corrections convoy! We are in distress! There's this big THING over here! We need god-eaters to help us!" Churchhill's voice rang.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?" another voice screamed in the background.

"EGAD!" Sakaki screamed.

Just a quick chapter for stress relief after a long day, Did anyone else feel off as hell this Wednesday?
