Dominic was furious, black waves of fury rolled over his body like mist. He through another arrow at the dartboard and it found its mark yet again. He was the best at everything, archery, alchemy, code breaking, martial arts. No one had anything on him and he loved being seen as the best. He got the best missions and the best girls, it was a well known fact. So it really puzzled him that his mission commander wanted to send him on a retrieval mission, of all things. That was an amateur's job. He deserved only the best, life threatening missions that got his blood racing, not looking for a lost little girl.
"You really should calm down, it'll be a great exercise you know," His mission commander Mrs Black said, voice dripping with honey. He glared at her through blazing green eyes and let out a bitter laugh.
"An exercise, wow, is this about the stupid party last week. Sorry I sneaked out and had fun because I actually have a life mom," Yes, Mrs Black was his mom and a legend here. But that didn't mean that he got any special treatment. As a matter of fact, she was a lot harder on him than on anyone else.
"It was Devil's night, you were supposed to be doing your duty, not picking up girls at a bar," she said calmly.
"I was not picking up girls, I was investigating the theft at the computer store, i was this close to apprehending those kids," he said, gritting his teeth.
"That's the thing, one of the the teens who was involved in the robbery is one of us, the one we want you to find. She's Inked, she was lost but now she is of age, she has to join our ranks.
Here is a picture of her," she handed him a small photograph.
"It is you," he said in disbelief, " I thought my eyes were tricking me that night, but she's really one of us"
His gaze softened," I cannot take this mission."
