For three days, Seidu refused to eat or drink anything. His parents were on the verge of seeking external assistance when he suddenly told his mother what he was hiding.
”Elelelele!” she screamed before throwing herself on the ground and rolling from one end of the room to the other, attracting neighbours.
“I tried dissuading him to no avail,” Seidu said amidst sobbing. The neighbours could hardly believe what they were hearing. Igala land had not only lost a loving princess but also one of her most promising youths. More tears flowed and soon, the news got to the king and Ogbadu’s family.
“The gods forbid!” the king screamed when he heard it and Seidu was sent for instantly. He went in the company of his father and mother who was still screaming.
They met Ogbadu’s family waiting with the king when they arrived.
Seidu repeated the news still sobbing and Ogbadu’s mother fainted. She was rushed to the house of the king’s physician before she regained consciousness.
