Hope. There was now hope to make it through this. Evan didn't know what the full integration would do but he knew the system wouldn't just let him die. It was against the protocols of the system. He knew that a lot of things were still locked because it wasn't fully able to integrate with him. He didn't know if any would be able to help him, but it was the only shot he had.
The pain was unbearable though. He felt like he was going to implode. The pressure on his spirit pool was bearing down on what felt like his thoughts. There was immense pressure, it felt as if his thoughts themselves were being chipped away. He couldn't even form full sentences in his head anymore.

It had only been 60 seconds but felt like years. The whole time Gerard was laughing maniacally. He was driving sick pleasure out of the screams of Evan. The process took almost twice he energy than it normally would, but with his control that wasn't a big deal.
