Chapter 258: Practical Breakthrough

With Kassadin's approval, Sonya immediately brought out her scheduled plans and set to work. Within just three days, the members of Void Island noticed that familiar construction crews had returned.

The male members of the Void Sect were intrigued, gathering to watch as the large machinery went to work. Even Kael and Reno were standing among the spectators, making Sara curious about what was happening.

When Sara arrived, she saw the massive machinery in action, and her excitement quickly faded.

"Kael, don't you need to be training right now?" Sara asked, surprised to find him, too, watching the machines at work.

"Just watching for a bit first," Kael replied with a smile, glancing at Sara before returning his gaze to the large machines, which were rumbling loudly as they excavated and reshaped the land.

"Is watching this machinery really that interesting?" Sara asked, puzzled by how fascinated the men were by the construction equipment.

"Tony said that men have a certain romantic appreciation for large machinery, especially when it's altering the landscape. This fascination spans all ages," Lalatina chimed in. With Tony immersed in his lab work every day, she had more free time and had come to observe the scene herself.

"I see... Well, I might as well watch too, then," Sara responded, still not quite understanding but deciding to join them anyway.

Thus, a rather amusing sight unfolded: a group of immensely powerful beings who could fly and manipulate immense forces, standing around watching construction workers operate heavy machinery. The workers had grown used to the presence of these superhumans and paid them no mind, continuing their diligent work.

Meanwhile, at the mountain villa, Sonya noticed Kassadin standing on the fourth-floor balcony, also gazing in the direction of the construction site. Curious, she looked out too and realized that even someone as powerful as Kassadin was watching the machinery in action.

Sonya had learned a lot over time and knew that men had a peculiar fondness for large machines. But she hadn't expected that even someone as formidable as Kassadin would share that fascination. Given Kassadin's power, he could easily reshape entire landscapes with a thought, yet here he was, enjoying the sight of construction equipment doing the job.

But if Kassadin liked watching, there was no harm in it. Smiling to herself, Sonya reclined on a nearby lounge chair, her long, slender legs stretched out, and returned to her work.

After the New Year, Void Island returned to its usual peaceful atmosphere. Four months quietly passed as winter thawed, and spring arrived. New entertainment facilities had been added to the island, and Tony, with the help of thirteen scientists sent by Lix, had successfully developed the prototype of his wormhole jumping technology.

Creating a wormhole jump device required significant computational power to quickly calculate the destination on the other side of the wormhole, as well as powerful radar scanning capabilities to detect nearby wormholes while in space. Most importantly, it needed an advanced protective shield to minimize the strain during the jump.

These three key functions required vast amounts of knowledge.

Even with his genius and all the research data at his disposal, Tony's prototype still fell short of the performance provided by commercially available wormhole jumping technology used in large space battleships.

Nonetheless, this was a significant breakthrough. Tony had not only grasped the fundamental principles but had also built a functional prototype. Now, it was just a matter of refining and improving it.

The thirteen scientists from Mogri Star were amazed. In just four months, Tony Stark had not only mastered the research data but also developed the necessary calculations. The AI assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., wasn't a super AI like the ones they were used to, but it was undoubtedly advanced. It was no wonder General Lix had specifically arranged for them to work with Tony.

Although Tony came from the still-developing Blue Star, his talent and technical knowledge were truly extraordinary.

After eight months of hard work, Tony finally completed the prototype and stepped out of his lab. He treated the thirteen scientists to a well-deserved meal and rewarded each of them with a generous payment of thirty million.

Standing by the window with a glass of fine wine that Lalatina had brought him, Tony watched the blossoming trees outside, the world around him awakening with spring's arrival. He decided it was time for a well-earned break.

If his research had still been stuck, Tony wouldn't have dared to relax. But now, with a breakthrough behind him, he could afford to take a few days off to unwind. After all, balancing work with rest was essential—even Tony knew that too much work could burn out his passion.

"Lalatina, contact Sonya for me," Tony said after sipping his wine. "Let her know that we've made significant progress on the wormhole technology and developed the prototype. Give me a bit more time, and while I can't guarantee we'll surpass every other wormhole tech on the market, we should be able to match their performance."

He paused, smiling. "And since we've made such great progress, I'm going to take a few days off and relax a bit."

"You've earned it, Tony," Lalatina replied, impressed. "How do you plan to relax?"

"Oh, I promised Kael and the others I'd take them to Elite Hotel for some downtime. It's been over six months since then, and I'm sure they're wondering if I forgot!" Tony chuckled, pleased with the idea.

"Have fun, Tony," Lalatina said warmly. It was clear Tony had earned a break after spending the last seven months in his lab, working non-stop.

Lalatina immediately contacted Sonya to deliver the good news. Meanwhile, Tony sent a message to Kael and the others, asking where they were and planning to meet up with them soon.
