The experience of floating in the void begins when one steps away from the physical and emotional reference points one is used to and steps into a different perception of reality. Physically, in an environment without gravity, the body loses the resistance it normally feels. This is characterised by a feeling of flight, characterised by the body becoming lighter and movements becoming slower and softer. However, this feeling of lightness of the body can evoke in the experiencer a kind of freedom and a sense of existence beyond boundaries.
