As the first pair of clones finished their prey off, a pair using alloyed steel spears were also finishing off their prey.
With the added bonus of range, the rodent couldn't even get close. Each strike with a spear would easily pierce the slick skin of the rodent causing small geysers of blood dying the grass red.
However as the rodents fell and blood soaked into the ground, the pure smell of blood floated into the air spreading throughout the forest.
Less than a mile away, a wolf-like creature raised its snout into the air. It's almost fluorescent fur reflected the moonlight as a powerful aura radiated off of it, causing nearby creatures to tremble.
It opened its drooling mouth as it smelled the blood, as it bared its sharp teeth it tracked its way towards the smell of blood. Its huge two meter high body easily crushed any obstacles on its way.
The hunters were still unaware of this oncoming danger, as they rummaged around the head of rodents to see if there were some spiritual crystals.
Out of all 5 rodents they only found 3 spiritual crystals, naturally only Rank 1.
At this point a pair of sharp eyes pierced towards the hunters as it hid in the shrubbery.
Watching them happily loot their winnings there was a humanlike disdain in the eyes of the wolf.
If the clones could see it, they would recognise it as a Lunar Wolf. A terrifying creature with the weakest being equal to a Rank 5 small warrior.
However the most terrifying part of this creature is their cautiousness. Even if its prey looked like free food in its eyes, it would still carefully eliminate them without the slightest threat.
And that's exactly what it was doing now. It lowered its body and hid behind the nearest clone holding a bright silver spear.
As the clone put down his guard he sat down to rest. Despite the battle seeming easy each clone put a lot of effort into learning their weaknesses.
Suddenly, he clutched his throat, blood poured ceaselessly out of it as sharp teeth pierced straight through his neck preventing him from calling out. The clone's eyes were full of terror as he heard a silent growling in his ears before everything was silent.
Before the clones could react, the wolf leapt forward once again and reached out some newly revealed claws straight through the head of a knife holding clone.
The clone had no defense as it fell down dead on the ground.
However this alerted the rest of the clones as they saw a companion fall onto the ground in a pile.
They turned into a simple fighting stance clutching their weapons in their hands.
However there was nothing they could do. It was literally a wolf in a flock of sheep.
Despite being drastically outnumbered, the difference between a normal person and a powerful warrior couldn't be fixed by numbers.
The clones had no chance, each falling one by one covered in terrible looking marks. Deep claw cuts along their chest flooding the ground with their own blood.
One had its head fully bitten off as the wolf savagely tore them apart.
Surprisingly a single clone had managed to sneak away unknown to the wolf. Or it was known but it didn't bother to chase.
Rather the wolf turned towards the remaining clones in front of it, who had long been unable to touch a hair on the wolf's body.
It was a brutal massacre. Blood flowed down the once beautiful fur of the wolf, much more plentiful than the blood of the rodents.
''Ahh! No! '' The final clone couldn't help but shout as the wolf's sharp teeth pierced his abdomen, but before he could finish a sharp claw pierced straight through his eyes ending his life.
And then it was silent, all of the clones sent hunting were eliminated one by one. However they were clones after all. As the wolf turned around with a bit of pride in its face, it quickly turned to shock as all it found was shining weapons pierced into the ground and tattered robes spread along the ground, outlining what were once corpses.
''Awwooooo'' The wolf howled into the air in indignation before finally resigning itself to eating the hunted rodents.

''Huh?... What???'' Mark was quickly awakened by the system message.
''What do you mean my clones have died??'' Marks first thought it was impossible, the worst opponent they could face there was a rodent right?
But after reading the system messages, Mark could no longer deny it. They were dead.
''Did any survive? System withdrew any survivors'' Mark no longer cared if anyone saw them disappear. He needed to know what happened.
[Withdrawing 1 clone]
The system answered Mark's question, but it wasn't what he wanted to hear.
A team of 12 powerful people would be enough to face someone close to a Rank 1 warrior.
What threat could they face in a low level hunting ground?
However, when he sifted through the memories he was stunned. Naturally he recognised the Lunar wolf, but that led to further confusion.
Why would such a powerful creature approach that weak area.
But there was nothing he could do. Mark had no choice but to count his losses.
The surviving re-summoned clone had a single alloyed spear, but Mark was drawn to the small pouch on its waist.
This was the reason this clone was chosen to run. It held the three spiritual crystals.
However when Mark considered the losses, he felt like crying. Over 35,000 credits worth of objects were lost this time.
''Wait, system, I thought the clones will keep their objects when the dissipate?''
[Yes, however that is only in the case of manual withdrawal.]
''Oh I see.''
Mark sat there to calm his panicked heart. As he withdrew that clone he felt all the emotions including the intense fear and pressure caused by the wolf.
His hands could not stop trembling despite only seeing the memory.
