First Constituent Assembly Session: Prelude

(16th August 1947)

Today, the first session of the constituent assembly was going to happen.

In the constituent assembly of interim government of India, 53% of the seats are made up of BNP(Bhartiya Nationalist Party), 41% of Congress, and rest of the others.

Though for the entirety of British India, before creation of Pakistan, the seat share of BNP was 45%, while the combined seat share of INC and Muslim League was more than 50%. Thankfully, Muslim League only got majority in the 'pakistan' region, and Balochistan had agreed for integration back to India beforehand in a secret dealing with the king.

In the Constituent Assembly, it is BNP's interim government.

Saraswati Devi is the PM.

Shivaji Patil is the President.

Harikrishnan Bharat is the Law minister, who will be the chairman of the Constitution's drafting committee.

Muhammad Faiz is the Home Minister, who is on the task of integrating back all the princely states, with help from INC MP Sardar Patel as well.

And Munmun Datta is currently handling Foreign Affairs.

Currently, BNP doesn't have absolute 2/3rd majority, so taking tough decisions will be difficult.

So, the current goal is to complete the constitution as soon as possible, and hold elections. Possibly before Gandhi is shot dead so that Congress doesn't get sympathy votes.

Right now, the country is really angry at Gandhi, for his audacious and unnecessary inputs to let Pakistan walk over India, to not hold back its share of money, etc. And he is refusing to take protection. He really is a piece of work.

The President started the first session of Constituent Assembly.

"Good morning everyone. Today, the first session of the Constituent Assembly, which will make the constitution of India is starting. I urge everyone to maintain decorum. Time is money, and we don't have much of either. So please don't make a scene, or I will have no choice but to suspend that person.

Today, the issues we have on agenda are:

1) Appointing the drafting committee,

2) setting up an investigation committee regarding the rumours of Subhash Chandra Bose's plane crash,

3) Stance on Pakistan,

4) Open discussion.

Now, we will start the session with a speech from the PM. Saraswati ji, please."
