Summoning

(Touya's POV)

My name is Mochizuki Touya, and I come from another world. A few hours ago, I was an ordinary high school student heading home when I was struck by lightning. When I woke up, I met a God who had mistakenly killed me and apologized for it. I was taken aback that a God would apologize to me and then I accepted the fact that I was dead. However, to make up for his mistake, the God gave me a chance to reincarnate into another world. I accepted the offer, and he gave me some enhancements as a bonus.

I met Zanac and traveled with him to Reflet. We arrived at a shopping district, and I followed Zanac into his clothing store called "Fashion King." I had to sell my old clothes to pay for new ones, and Zanac paid me ten gold pieces for them, which was all my life savings. I asked Zanac for an inn's location to rest before nightfall, and he directed me to the Silver Moon Inn. After leaving the store, I used my smartphone to check the time and location on the map.

(Alex's POV)

Looking at the holographic screen projected by Alfred, I smiled as the canon had finally started.

With the use of Search, Mirage, and some other spells, Alfred was able to project the live feed of Touya to me.

I saw the original MC of the anime leaving the shop under the watchful eyes of Zanac and heading towards the inn while dealing with the thugs who were trying to bully his future harem members, the twin Elze and Linze.

Closing the live feed, I fell back on the bed and thought about the future events of the world, such as the Phrase Invasion, Duchy of Brunhild, the Evil God, God Relatives, and Touya's harem of underage girls.

In my opinion, In Another World With My Smartphone is one of the best isekai animes, and Touya, the MC, is one of the most decent ones.

He is not overconfident and arrogant, nor he is apathetic and low self-esteemed.

Although he is a bit dense and cowardly when facing his wives, he is a really decent protagonist in my opinion.

As for the canon, I have no plans to replace Touya and take his limelight or antagonize him. Neither do I want to be his supporter who will lick his ass like the MCs of different fanfics.

I will just live my life as I please and not care much about canon if it does not involve me or my interest.

(Next day)

Alex woke up early in the morning and carried out his usual training routine. As he finished his training, he thought about his plans for the day. He had already decided to start his own business and would soon begin implementing all of his plans.

Today, he needed to visit a few merchants whom he had researched the previous day to purchase their networks. He also needed to buy some land, for which he would need to visit the town hall and some lesser nobles in the area.

Additionally, he needed to build his own house, for which he had already developed a blueprint with the help of Alfred.

"Should I try it today?" Alex wondered.

He was referring to the summoning magic - the same summoning magic that Touya had used to summon the Four Heavenly Beasts to serve him.

Alex had wanted to try summoning for a while but had always delayed it because of the large number of quests he had taken to rank up faster. But now that he was free, he decided to give it a try.

Alex drew a magic circle unique to dark magic and stood in front of it. He focused all of his Darkness together and directed the flow of his magic into the center of the magic circle.

A black fog slowly built up within the bounds of the magic circle until it completely filled the space. Suddenly, an explosive burst of magical energy emerged from within, causing the winds to go crazy and an unfathomable pressure to descend in the nearby area. However, Alex was not affected by it.

As the black fog dispersed, the figure of a large dark-scaled eastern dragon with golden eyes emerged from the circle.

"...Are you the one who summoned me to the lands of mortals, human?" the dragon asked.

"Yes, I'm the one who summoned you," Alex replied excitedly.

"Hahaha, to think that there is a human who is capable of summoning me to the land of the living. You sure are one interesting human. To be able to summon me to the land of the living, you are the first creature to be able to accomplish this. So, you want to form a contract with me, human?" the dragon said.

"Yes," Alex said confidently.

"You seem quite confident in yourself," the dragon said.

"So, what are your conditions for forming a contract with me?"Alex asked

The dragon replied, "Since you are the first being that was able to summon me, I don't have any knowledge about the challenges to give you. How about a duel?"

"A duel?" Alex repeated.

"Yes, if you are able to defeat me, then I shall form a contract with you," the dragon said.

"Very well, I accept your challenge," Alex said.

"Since you have accepted it, let the duel begin," the dragon announced.

The giant eastern dragon plunged at Alex, who barely avoided being crushed to death.

Using teleportation and flying, Alex quickly surveyed the ground covered in dust.

'She's fast,' Alex thought to himself as he watched the dust disperse, and the dragon approached him, its mouth wide open, trying to devour him.

"Shield!" Alex created a magical shield to protect himself, and the dragon backed away a little before attacking again. Alex didn't waste any time and chanted his next spell.

"Confine!" Alex cast a null spell that confined the eastern dragon in the air. He then plunged at her while summoning his glaive from his inventory and slashed at the dragon with a paralysis enchantment, defeating her.
