In My Next Life I'll Win the Heart of the Male Lead

There's nothing wrong with Adelaide's life. There's nothing wrong with being cheated on. After all, half of marriages end in divorce and most end from infidelity. There's nothing wrong with getting addicted to an otome game. After all, everybody has something they're obsessed with. There's nothing wrong with reincarnating as the villainess instead of the heroine. After all, the villainess is richer and more powerful. There's nothing wrong with the villainess chasing after one of the love interests. After all, it's not like he's the canon route. There's nothing wrong with Ophelia's life.

Lucas gets bored, stretches, paces around, sighs, and starts searching through other record books himself.

It's not as if he knows enough about what I'm looking for or this place for his idle page flipping to be of any help, but there's little else he can do at the moment, so I can hardly expect him to do anything else.

In fact if he did try to do something else, he'd probably actually do something annoying or frustrating.

It is Lucas, after all.

I'm rather used to him finding ways to be annoying.

The afternoon stretches into evening as the light outside starts to fade. It doesn't feel like it's been that long, but I suppose that's because there's no real method to keep track of the outside world in here.

That, and there's so much more left to sift through, our small progress just makes it feel like I must only have been searching for a few minutes.
