Chapter 17 : "The Inner Earth Encounter: Guardian Clashes and Unseen Perils"?

Quetzalcoatl, this menacing creature, swiftly acknowledged Godzilla's sovereignty upon his unannounced arrival and voluntarily retreated.

Deep within the heart of the Earth lay Godzilla, the undisputed king of monsters. Despite Quetzalcoatl's ferocity, it acknowledged Godzilla's command and made a hasty departure.

Godzilla's raw might and massive physique made Quetzalcoatl no match for him. As a titan giant serpent, Quetzalcoatl's attack techniques mirrored those of colossal pythons, relying on coiling around prey, using its wing membranes to suffocate or swallow them whole. Yet, against Godzilla, these tactics proved futile.

Godzilla's impenetrable defense rendered Quetzalcoatl's fangs ineffective. In essence, Quetzalcoatl's most powerful attacks barely scratched the surface against the mighty Godzilla.

In contrast, Godzilla boasted an imposing stature, formidable hide, boundless strength, and lethal long-range abilities like the Atomic Breath. While only a few monsters could rival Godzilla, Quetzalcoatl certainly wasn't among them.

Perhaps there were other denizens within the Earth's inner realm daring enough to challenge Godzilla, but they either succumbed to his dominance or were overwhelmed by his power.

Godzilla, an expert in resolving all kinds of conflicts, had an undeniable way of establishing authority. For a titan giant snake like Quetzalcoatl, it was wise to avoid provoking Godzilla. Should they provoke him, it would only be a matter of minutes before things turned dire.

Observing Quetzalcoatl's swift departure, Arthur waited with curiosity before redirecting his focus elsewhere.

Dismounting from Godzilla's colossal back, when Arthur touched the ground at the lower edge, there was no immediate system prompt.

"Seems like specific locations are required," Arthur mused, turning to Godzilla. "Brother, do you know the whereabouts of the Titan King Kong clan in the inner Earth?"

"I do. If you're headed there, I'll guide you," replied Godzilla, despite his apparent dissatisfaction regarding the King Kong clan.

Jumping onto Godzilla's tail, Arthur found a comfortable spot, lying flat and placing the trident beneath his head. Through their mental connection, Arthur asked, "Big brother, it seems you have reservations about the King Kong clan. Care to share?"

Prompted, Godzilla began, "In ancient times, despite both the King Kong and Godzilla clans being guardians, our relationship was contentious, neither side accepting the other."

"However, those troublesome simians aimed to use our Godzilla dorsal fins as weapons and killed one of my elders. This escalated into a conflict between our clans, where the numerous but less powerful simians made weapons to subdue us. Eventually, our ancestors defeated them."

"Fearing further clashes and destruction, the King Kong family migrated. Using Titan technology, they tore a piece of land from the inner Earth and fled, disappearing from our sight."

"About a millennium ago, I roamed the surface and found an island where people revered me as a god. There, I encountered King Kong, lost in battle and expelled from the island."

"As I matured and planned to return for retribution, I discovered the island had drifted away with the currents. I wonder if the King Kong I knew is still alive?"

There was a tinge of sorrow and regret in Godzilla's tone.

"Can you really face King Kong, brother? Is he that formidable?" Arthur inquired, recalling the events of "King Kong Skull Island."

"That monkey is nothing when I'm alone; even in a two-on-one battle, I won't lose," asserted Godzilla, a touch unconvinced.

Arthur prodded further, "How did you get expelled from the island?"

"Three of them did it!" Godzilla exclaimed, perturbed, causing several enormous hermit crabs to scuttle about.

Hearing this, Arthur couldn't help but feel empathy for his brother, still troubled by his defeat against King Kong.

Calculating the timeline—1962—the events of "King Kong Skull Island" occurred in 1973, a mere eleven years apart. Logically, King Kong should still be in its infancy, standing under 30 meters tall, having lost both parents and becoming the sole seedling of the King Kong clan.

However, time in this world was peculiar. Without witnessing it firsthand, Arthur couldn't ascertain King Kong's current size.

If there was an opportunity to locate Skull Island, perhaps he could develop new abilities by confronting it.

As they trekked and conversed, Arthur witnessed many peculiar creatures in the Earth's inner world. One such creature was the "Icarus Wings," resembling the creatures from "King Kong Skull Island."

Icarus Wings were akin to pterosaurs but smaller in size, with leaf-like wings. Dwelling in groups atop mountains within dense woods, these aerial hunters' proboscis spines contained potent anesthetic compounds. They executed vertical attacks from great heights to prey upon their victims.

To Godzilla, these Icarus Wings were mere insects, but to ordinary beings, they posed a significant threat.

Perhaps due to the glint of Neptune's Trident or the golden aura from Arthur's suit, the Icarus Wings flying overhead noticed Arthur's presence. These creatures, inhabitants of the Earth's inner world, had never encountered humans before.

However, their instincts suggested Arthur was edible and a rich source of protein. While larger monsters didn't usually provoke Godzilla, the Icarus Wings, with their wings spanning only two meters, were mere nuisances to him, akin to how humans didn't bother with ants on the ground. Typically, Godzilla paid them no mind.

But Arthur couldn't ignore the danger posed by the Icarus Wings' sharp beaks, capable of dismembering.

Preferring not to test his body's resilience against such attacks, Arthur swiftly stood up, wielding the trident to neutralize the Icarus Wings.

The act of vanquishing a few Icarus Wings stirred the rest, triggering a swarm.

"Roar (keep away)~" Godzilla's resounding roar echoed.

In response to Godzilla's warning, the aggressive Icarus Wings instantly retreated, reverting from assailants to mere creatures.

"Don't worry, brother. With you by my side, no beast would dare harm me," Arthur reassured Godzilla.

Upon hearing Arthur's commendation, Godzilla felt content, picking up the pace a bit, exuding a sense of joy.
