Chapter 72 Huge visit

“Am not trying to said that but you know how we worked hard to get here, please don’t allow Paul bring in a woman who will destroy everything.”

“And how do you know she is going to destroy everything?” Her husband ask.

“Can’t you see? Those people are poor, they are looking for where to nest”

“Woman please, I have heard enough of this, how will you know if you’ve not given her a chance to prove herself” 

“She can’t prove herself in my house, let her do that elsewhere” she start crying again hoping to make her husband be on her side but not this time, Mr. Brown is going to help his son marry the woman after his heart.

Mr. Brown left his wife alone to continue crying.

“Are you for real?” Mrs. Brown couldn’t believe that her husband could let her cry for the first time without consoling her.

“I need to do something fast before this girl completely take over my house”

Bridget and Paul where back working while planning for the marriage, Christy is with their mother.

“Don’t worry my dear, I will not allow that woman intimidate you, if her son wants to marry you, am behind you and there is nothing she can do about it, but one thing you must do for me is to take me to see my granddaughter” Christy stepmom said.

“Ok ma, we can go tomorrow” 

“Ok”

Mean while Paul’s mom is planning to visit the city and see things for herself.

“Please I don’t want you to go there coursing any trouble” Mr. Brown told his wife.

 “What do you mean? Me coursing trouble in my own house?”

“Am only asking you to see reasons with him, that’s all, and by the way your granddaughter is beautiful and smart too” 

She just make a face hearing the word “granddaughter”

Getting there she met a girl who introduced herself as the new house help and babysitter.

“Are you serious? House help and babysitter? Where is the baby you are sitting?”

“Am not sitting ma, am only babysitting”

“Shut-up and show me the baby”

“Ok she went to school”

“Hmmm, Paul is really something else, I was here thinking that he is still a boy, but he has already started a family without my knowledge”

“I will wait for him”

She opens her room and went inside.

Paul and Bridget came back from work with little Sharon without knowing that his mom is already in the house.

Bridget walk straight to her room and change so she can come out and eat, they now have food in the house because of the new house help.

She call the house help to come and serve food, but Paul’s mom walk out of her room when she thought she heard a female voice.

“And who are you?” She ask Bridget.

“Oh, good evening ma”, she greeted her so surprise to see her.

“I said who are you? She ask again without answering her greetings.

“Am..am..am Bridget”

“Bridget, and what are you doing in my house?”

Bridget didn’t know what to say.

“Oh. Let me guess, you are Paul’s girlfriend Christy”

“No..no..no, am not Christy, am Bridget”

“You are his other girlfriend I guess”

“No ma, am not his girlfriend” 

“OMG, why didn’t I see this coming? So Paul has numerous girlfriends and I don’t know” she was so disappointed in Paul.

“Hey mom, you didn’t tell me you are coming” Paul greets her when he enters the house.

“Do I have to give notice before coming to my house, Paul this is my house and you are not allowed to come here with your numerous girlfriends”

“Numerous girlfriends? Paul ask surprised.

“Yes, who is this one? Pointing at Bridget. I thought am coming to deal with Christy only but I don’t know I have other of your girlfriends to deal with. When did you turn out this bad Paul?”

“Mom she’s not my girlfriend she works at the office but she has accommodation problem”

She looked at Bridget up and down “ and you think the best place to house her is here?”

“Mom please, you just arrived have some rest”

“I’ve been her since afternoon, so don’t tell me to rest, I have enough strength to face you”

“Daddy who is she?” little Sharon ask, because she has been seeing different facing lately.

“Oh, peace this your granny, go and greet her”

“Good evening granny” 

She didn’t answer

“What is your name?”

“My name is Peace”

“Peace hmmm, that’s a lovely name” she manage to say.

Peace walk back to her dad because it seems to her that this woman doesn’t like her.

“Is ok”, Paul called the house help to come and take the baby away.

Peace is beginning to miss her mother, she is not comfortable staying with all this strangers, they don’t even like her.

“Please where is my mom?” she ask the house help.

“I don’t know my dear, I just got here, maybe your mom will come ok”

“Ok, I don’t like that woman,” she pointed at Paul’s mom.

“Sheee.. don’t say that ok”, the house help tells her, because she can see that there is trouble in this house.

“So where is the Christy you want to marry?” 

“She went home to see her mother” Paul said.

“Which mother? That girl has no mother, and the gold digger which she call mother is her stepmom who didn’t even like her, is that the kind of family you want to go into”

Bridget felt like exploding when Paul’s mom call her mom gold digger.

Paul just talked to Bridget with his eyes to calm down.

“Mom can we stop this?”

“No, until you stop this madness of getting married, you already have a wife”

“I need a divorce” Paul said.

“That will not happen, Sharon is the only girl I will accept into my house”

“Then get ready to loose me” Paul said.

“Fine, do what ever you want, but I don’t want to see her in my house, not here not at home, and you will leave my hotel too” she threatened.

“But you can’t do that?”

“Watch me do it” she said and turn to Bridget “Look for accommodation and leave my house, gold diggers” she yells and went back inside her room.

“Am so sorry” Paul pleaded on his mother’s behalf. 

“My mom is not a gold digger, she should stop calling her that” Bridget said angrily.

“She didn’t know is your mom, so don’t be angry ok.”

“As if it makes any difference” Bridget said and walk out.

Paul went in to check up on his daughter.

“I want to see my mom” she cry’s

“Don’t worry your mom will be here soon, has she eaten”

“She refuse to eat sir,” the house help said.

“Ok, come let’s go and eat,” Paul took his daughter out and they went out for ice cream.

The next day Christy and mom arrived.

“Mommy… little Sharon ran to hug her mom.

“How are you?”

“Am fine,” she told her mother everything that is happening ever since she left and how a woman came here looking for her but she didn’t know the women but dad said she is her granny.

Christy’s heart skips, “I hope Paul’s mom is not here?”

Paul welcome them but before he could finish his mom came out.

“And what are this people doing here?” she ask looking at Christy’s stepmom up and down.

“Mom please don’t start, please” Paul’s heart skips just like Christy’s own. He knows that this two women are going to bring hell on earth, so he pleaded with his mom.

“No, leave her alone, let me see what she will do” Christy’s mom said. Ready for what ever will happen.

“Mom please we didn’t come here to fight anyone” Christy plead.

“Am I fighting her? She started it and I will finish it for her”

“I don’t want to see any of you in my house, take your daughter and leave my house”

“We are going no where, am here to see my granddaughter”

“Do you have a granddaughter?” Paul’s mom ask.

“Yes, my daughter Christy gave birth to her.”

“Really? Is it not the girl you want to kill, now you want her because she has given birth to a child who happens to be my grandchild, if she had this child with a poor boy will you have accepted her?”

“What do you mean by that” Bridget’s mom ask angrily.

“Mom please is enough, I don’t like this at all” Paul is finding it hard to control his mom and Bridget’s mom.

“No, leave me alone, let me deal with her, this woman told me how wicked Christy’s mom was and how she took over her husband.”

“Mom please stop” Paul yells at his mom.

“What about you who bribed me with one million to make sure Paul never saw Christy again.” Bridget mom’s answered.

“What! Mom?”

“Don’t mind her son, she is lying”.
