Charlotte was mad with anger. She could not believe that her son was doing it again. He was defending the man that he barely knew – the same person that was most likely responsible for almost all the bad things that had happened to them. If there was anyone that he was not supposed to forgive, it was Alberto. Charlotte was not even happy with Smile's decision to go and rescue him and the fact that Jacobi had to die in the process made matters worse.

"You have no idea what is going on here my son," Charlotte said. "This man here is a very bad man. In fact he killed your uncle, uncle Jacobi. Would you forgive that so easily?" Marty stared at her for a while as if daring her to tell them the truth that she was lying. He could not be a killer, and even if he was, then Uncle Jacobi was not going to be one of his victims. He stared at her longer waiting for her to retract her statement and when she was not, he turned to face Alberto.
