“Some other soldier, one of the young guys, isdead. Givens pulled the trigger. I’m pretty sure he’s also responsible for sending one of the ISIS guys up to where I was positioned to take me out.”
“I am going to rip his balls off,” Mike muttered.
“Not if I get the chance first.”

Outside the clinic, Maggie leaned against the wall drinking a bottle of water. Aidan sat on a discarded wooden crate. He checked his phone, typed something in, and then put the phone in his pocket.
“Sending a sitrep?” Maggie asked.
Aidan smiled slightly. “Not exactly. It was just a message to Chris letting him know I’m alive and as safe as I’m apt to get given where I am.”
Maggie knew that Aidan had a domestic partner, someone he’d met a year or so ago. She didn’t know a whole lot else. “Is he part of the alphabet soup community?”
