Chapter 30
Aidan Sterling’s hand touched Mike’s shoulder. “I just got a message from Maggie.” He handed Mike his phone.
Target acquired. Still viable but damage serious. Repairs started. Transit time uncertain.
“It means he’s still alive,” Aidan said. “She doesn’t pull any punches. But not to worry, she’s got a lot of medical training. She’ll take care of him.”
“What do we do when we get there?” Mike asked, relief flooding through him.
“I have someone I trust meeting us. Don’t worry. Maggie is the only one over there who knows exactly who Kurt is.”
“Except whoever betrayed him.”
“Er, yeah, okay, there’s still a lot of risk.”
“I still have no idea exactly what happened.” Mike rubbed his hands down over his face. “But he would have sent me more info if he didn’t think it might get him killed.”
“We’ll find out. I promise.”
The loud speaker in the airport announced their flight was boarding. Mike stood up slowly and picked up his gear.
