The fact that Alex was a basic mage and they were core mages did not cause them to be arrogant and decide to handle Alex lightly. They had seen what Alex was capable of as a basic mage when he sent their leader flying with only one spell and had ruled him off as an even bigger threat than the core mages, so they did not think of taking him on alone; they would attack together instead.
They both separated with that jump and attacked Alex from both sides.
"Fireball!!"
One of them shouted and sent a huge fireball that was over three meters wide toward Alex from the left. Alex guessed he probably had a treasure that increased his spell damage.
