Imprisoned by Silk and Gold.

"You hit your head, Delany. You hit it when you were six. You looked dead, probably why your brother left you alone." "I don't have a brother dad and you don't have a son." Thomas looked broken and his eyes started to water. "I have a son. He is 12 years older than you. He has black hair and hazel eyes. He looks just like your mom! Thomas's eyes watered. Your brother had been brainwashed by his luna bitch to take out her rival pack...and that was us, Delany. Your brother killed my wife and led the attack on our entire pack. They slaughtered everyone, women, children men they killed everyone!" "This is the lowest shit you could ever pull dad." "Just look for yourself. Like I said. you lost your memory. You woke up and couldn't remember anything except for me and your mom i thought it was blessing in disguise. it meant my baby girl didn't have to remember the mass genocide of her entire pack. I mean just look at the photobook. It's all their." I couldn't help watch my teary-eyed father break down. He pointed to a photo book on the table and I reluctantly picked it up. Of course, I wished there was some magical excuse for his shit but I knew this idea was absolutely absurd. Until I opened the photo book. My head suddenly spun and an inner voice told me to keep going. Going through the pictures was startling. There I was, running around with distant but familiar kids. I had grandparents, and they looked in love with me. And I had a brother! My dad was right, he looked like my mom. Actually, we looked a lot alike too. Memories of a past life flooded my mind. I'm from a pack of werewolves. A large and happy pack. And then my stomach dropped. My brother's wedding was a murder scene. I watched as my memories flooded back into me and I watched my loved ones being slaughtered by my brother's mates pack...on his command! My heart began to break as I watched my mother's sad eyes. She had amber color eyes. They were soft and loving and I watched as she was sliced apart by large wolves. Her eyes her distorted and bloody. She was gone. How could I ever forget? I fell to the floor in pain and a voice told me to hold it together. "I know how rough I've been on you but I needed a wolf. And I thought if I was rough, you would..." I had so much anger. I wanted to rip my brother apart. I wanted to slice that mate of his into a million pieces. "I know what you were thinking dad. You were thinking about uncle Peaty. You were thinking of how his anger changed him into his wolf at 10 years old. I wish I could have been a stronger daughter for your father. I wish I could have been there for you." I stood up with a sense of conviction. I finally understood it. My father had dealt with the over baring pain of the loss of his entire pack. As Alfa, the pain must be unimaginable. During the slaughtering, he felt each one of his pack members pain and fear. He would have felt each and every one of their deaths. The burden he felt, brought tears to my face. I couldn't help but run into the arms of the man I waited my whole life to get away from. "I missed you, dad! I'm so sorry." "I missed you too, baby girl! It's good to have you back!" This was like having a reunion with someone I hadn't seen in years and then it was interrupted. BANG. BANG. BANG...The front door flew wide open.

Chapter 9: Just let go

Violent sounds erupted from the forest. Rune could feel it. "It's our mate! He is in a fight." I look over to tell Amalie but I can see her face. She already knows. Her future alpha was locked in battle and her wolf couldn't ignore the intense pull to save him. Her bones made cracking sounds and I watched as she turned into a medium-sized black and tan wolf with the trademark black claw mark on her side that her pack was known for. She was dainty and beautiful but her anger made her look wild and ferocious.

I look at the two large wolves ripping into each other and Rune goes mad. She whimpered as Torak grabbed ahold of one of Kodiaks ears and clamped down.

My body started to involuntary convulse. I want to tear Ronan's wolf apart for touching my mate.

I should have had my first shift the day I accepted my wolf but Rune went dormant and rejected me, making me an incomplete werewolf.

I thought I would have to force Rune to pair with me but now she was forcing me. Before I even had a chance to think my body fell to the ground. My flesh started to rip apart. My teeth extended and sharpened. The agony I felt surged throughout my entire body forcing me to cry out. I forced myself on all fours and screamed in complete agony. Long nails tore through my fingertips making me scream louder. I tried to resist. I didnt want this. I was in so much pain. "Stop Rune!"

Rune wasn't listening. Her mate needed her. That was all Rune was thinking about. She couldn't hear me anymore. It was like she had gone rabid.

And then I heard it in my father's voice. My Alphas voice. He was connected to me. "You have to stop resisting, Dell. Let your wolf do what she needs to do. Let her take over."

"No, I cant. It hurts. Dad, it hurts so bad." I howled out loud with everything I had. "Please Rune. I can't take this. STOP!"

"Let go, Dell!" I heard my dad shout again.

Dell? He hasn't called me that in years. It was my mom's nickname for me. It calmed me just enough to do what my father asked. I let go.

I can feel someone from my pack approaching. It was Amalie. But that means..where is Delaney? Before I can look Ronan's wolf clamps down on my ear again. Dumb mistake. Kodiak was trained to ignore pain. He ripped himself away from Torak leaving a chunk of his own ear in Torak's savage mouth. He now holds it in his mouth like a souvenir allowing me enough time to track Delaney down.

It looks like she is in mid-transformation. All the signs made it apparent that this was her first time transitioning and she was completely resisting. Doesn't she know the stress from resisting during a first transformation could kill her? It was thanks to Amalie's wolf jumping in and dragging Ronan's wolf by his hind leg did i have the perfect opportunity to run to my mate's side.

I have to admit Amalie is a badass she-wolf. She was holding down an Alpha twice her size. When I am alpha I will be moving up her rank in the pack.

When I reach Delaney I have to take a step back. Delaney had finally let her wolf take over and I couldn't believe my eyes.

A Golden Antediluvian werewolf. The first existing, strongest, and most powerful werewolf linage in existence. The Antediluvian wolves are the first werewolves in known history, and as such, they are the most feared and most powerful of all in existence. But Delany was a Golden Antediluvian. This was rare. This meant she was the queen of all werewolves. I had to tell the Authority. The current king and queen have been dethroned just like that. I looked to her rightsholder and thier it was. The royal mark. Thier was no choice Kodiak and I bowed our head in respect. I could hear Ronan and Amalie behind me. Thier fight had ended. Our new queen was in our presence.
