Yang Gang looked up to the other side of the screen, and realised it was a trick. He could not see what was happening behind the screen from within the confessional, but the inside could be seen from the outside.
The one confessing was a young married woman in her twenties, gorgeous and dressed in luxury brands, presumably a so-called upper-class figure.
"What do you want to confess?" Yang Gang asked.
"I just betrayed my husband and spent a night with a stranger." The woman's hands formed a steeple as she spoke.
"Ah, coming to confess before God indicates that you feel guilty towards your husband. God will not abandon any believer who seeks to reform." Yang Gang virtually repeated verbatim what the priests on TV say.
The woman let out an embarrassed chuckle: "In the presence of God, we must be honest, so I will tell the truth. Actually, I don't feel guilty towards my husband."
Yang Gang kept a straight face but asked as calmly as possible: "So what do you want to confess?"
