Nervous

Today was really relaxing. Clare spends her time watching drama on her cell phone in the front room, because the room is too noisy while the front room is so quiet and comfortable with a soft sofa that she ordered herself.

While enjoying the Capuchino, she watched the drama while lying on the sofa and placed the Capuchino she was drinking on the table. Seemed to be in a good mood, she was happy that there was nothing to do or do, so she chose to relax for a while and left her tablet on the desk.

Someone came out of the room to the right just behind Clare's head. Luke saw Clare smiling like a madman from watching a romantic scene on her cellphone, he frowned.

When his cell phone rang, he placed a glass of Americano on the table and took it out to take the call outside. But who would have thought, Clare's Americano was taken by mistake.

Clare drank it and narrowed her eyes feeling very bitter. She woke up from his bed and saw the glass she was holding, it was Americano while the Capuchino was on the table.

"I think the Chapucino's changed." Clare mumbled then got up from the couch and saw Luke had just finished taking the call. "Yours?" Clare asked showing the glass of Americano in her hand.

Seeing the drink in Clare's hand, he immediately took it with a straight face and was about to return to the room.

"You taste good. It's suitable for dieting," said Clare sarcastically. Even she herself regretted saying that.

Luke ignored her and went into the room without speaking. Clare felt stupid, she sat back down and smacked her forehead.

"Diet." Clare cursed herself. "Her life is like his coffee."

The sound of the door opening came from the direction of Clare's room. Apparently Zoya with a tablet in her hand, it seems that there will be another task delegated to Clare and it makes her very lazy.

"The professor sent you a message that you should enter the forbidden room and look for something useful there. Maybe it can be used to arrest Vrochis," said Zoya then handed the tablet in her hand, showing the incoming message from the Professor.

"Now?"

"If only it could be next year." Zoya taunts.

"I'll be there later." Clare continued watching it.

"Must be now;" Zoya argued.

"Alone?"

"Jules or Louis will accompany you." Zoya replied.

Hearing Louis' name being mentioned, Clare immediately ran to her room to ask Jules to accompany her, she didn't want Louis to suddenly take the initiative to accompany her to that scary room. As the guard was supposed to guard her, Louis would mess with her.

Clare pleads with Jules, but Jules is too busy with a pile of unfinished schoolwork. Clare didn't want to go out with Louis or there would be endless trouble.

"Jules, please...." Clare tugged at Jules' clothes like a child.

"Should you do it? The last time you were there, you almost became a victim. Luke is the leader, why did you have to do it? Just tell him to do it!" Jules chuckled. The problem is he has to turn in all the assignments tomorrow morning.

"That's right, I haven't told him yet. But he and Louis don't get along, it can't be with you right?"

"Stupid, everyone knows how Luke is. Of course he would do it himself without anyone's help. Besides, Vrochis is not in the room anymore, there's nothing to be afraid of."

"You are right. Then I'll be there myself." Clare murmured enlightened.

"Aren't you afraid of the dark?"

"Blaire is outside while Zoya has her own errands in the Elf garden. There's nothing I can take with me." Clare resigned.

"I feel like the one who should be doing this task isn't doing it. Take my advice, you tell Luke about this and have him do it himself." Jules is upset that it all goes to Clare. Don't know if Clare is too innocent or what.

"You have no idea what happened between me and Luke. That's embarrassing." Clare felt embarrassed at the memory of the coffee being swapped.

Jules sighed. "Clare, don't be so childish. Put work first over personal matters. Besides, I've been suggesting from the start to put on a thick face all the time."

"Yeah I know. I'll try to tell him. See how he reacts." said Clare even though she knew Luke's reaction would remain flat and cold.

Clare came out of her room towards Luke's. She knocked on Luke's door repeatedly as if there was no opening as she leaned against the door in resignation. Even though two taps is enough.

The door opened suddenly and Clare almost fell. Luckily she immediately restrained herself, holding on to the door so she wouldn't fall. She straightened up looking at Luke who looked flat then handed him a tablet containing a message from the Professor.

"Professor asks to check the restricted room. You already know about the disappearance of Vrochis and he asked for some items that can be used as evidence of it whereabouts," explained Clare.

"I'll be there." He said then returned the tablet.

"Really?" Clare went blank for a moment, without realizing her heart was cheering. "But you have to be with a guard like Louis or Jules."

"I don't need anyone to take care of me."

"But—"

"Already completed? I'm leaving." He interrupted then closed the door to his room and was about to leave but Clare's voice stopped him.

"It is my fault. There shouldn't be this mission and trouble you." Clare felt guilty for the disappearance of Vrochis.

"No one's blaming you." Luke said without turning his head.

"Louis, Eryk and Xavier blame me."

"Then, what do you want?" Luke turned to look at Clare.

"After the investigation in the forbidden room. I will do the rest including the arrest, I'm not an irresponsible person."

"If you want to kill yourself, don't bother."

"I just want to fix." Clare looked down. "Good luck." She cheered.

Clare went back to her room in silence and decided to take a hot bath in the bathroom. Whereas Luke found Clare to be so stubborn, there was no way Clare could straighten things out without anyone's help and he didn't agree, even her other friends would definitely not agree so Clare just told Luke. Clare hoped Luke wouldn't stop her, besides Luke's coldness and indifference had made Clare not threatened and dared to say it.

In her bath, Clare couldn't help but think about the events of that time. She still felt guilty for her fatal recklessness. She kept wishing that if she hadn't listened to that strange voice, this wouldn't have happened.

Clare drowned herself in the bathtub filled with warm water. This is the only way to calm her mind apart from walking. Silent in silence in the water with an empty mind.

"Clare...."

The whisper came again and Clare heard it in the water. Don't know what else vrochis wanted, it frustrated Clare.

"CLARE!!"

The voice sounded so close it made Clare stumble under the water and take another breath of air above the water. The bathroom was still empty, there was no one but the voice sounded close from nowhere.

Clare sighed, maybe it was because of her excessive guilt. It seemed that Clare was destined to be restless before the matter was completely cleared up.

Clare finished her bath and intended to go to the forbidden room. She can't calm down if it's not her who finishes it.

Clare walked in her new navy clothes to the 5th floor and led to the forbidden room. She saw Luke who had to leave the room and closed it again. Clare approached him.

"What did you find?" asked Clare.

"Nothing. Everything is clean except for the damp room and a few remaining torches." Luke said then looked at Clare who looked agitated. "Why are you here?"

"Just making sure, I have to finish it too." Clare said awkwardly.

"Luke!" called someone who turned out to be Gavin and ran towards them. "Apparently you're here. I was looking for you everywhere." He said then looked at Clare who still looked nervous. "Clare? You're here too. What is wrong?"

"It is nothing. Just a little business and now it's done. I'll go first." Clare smiled awkwardly and turned to leave.

"Uh, wait!" Gavin held Clare's arm then stood in front of her. "I see you've been busy lately. Anything I can help?"

"Nothing. I just want to meet my friends. After all, the task I received was only me who could complete it."

"You've been given a special assignment. That's great." He complimented then put his arm around Clare.

"Gavin, what are you looking for?" Luke asked feeling neglected.

Gavin turned to Luke and laughed lightly, he had forgotten his purpose just from meeting Clare. Gavin let go of his embrace then faced Luke.

"You should not always be in this haunted place. I want to take you somewhere, while on holiday," said Gavin.

"I'm busy." Luke said nonchalantly.

"Oh, come on. You always say the same thing every day. When will you have free time and get a woman if it continues like this. You too Clare, don't get hung up on your books and food, learn from Zoya." Gavin flicked Clare's forehead.

"I will learn from her. I'll go, bye," said Clare who felt like Gavin was about to blow his voice then jogged away from them. Clare didn't want to hear his ramblings anymore.

"Clare is cute, right?" Gavin mumbled getting a snide glance from Luke. Gavin saw Luke's cynical look as if he was demanding him, he immediately corrected the situation, "Calm down. I'm not the playboy I used to be"

"I thought you would never change." Luke said as he walked and Gavin followed him.

"Bro, don't underestimate this clever Gavin. Besides, I haven't complimented women in a long time. I see Clare deserves credit. She's smart, kind, innocent, cheerful, funny, sweet, loving—"

"Can you stop?" Luke interrupted feeling very annoyed.

"Why? I can't stop talking about Clare. My Clare is very sweet and innocent, just like her pet. Unlike you who are bitter and cruel." Gavin sneered.

Luke sighed in exasperation at his little brother's ear-piercing chatter. I don't know how long Gavin will continue to babble whenever he's with Luke, either praising him or demeaning him like now.
