Chapter 66. Confession

"It has been going on for a long time. Its only that your brain was so small to understand it. I can't wait to hold him in my arms and feel him again..." Aurora started. Rey felt his like jaws dropped. They had been doing so right under his nose. "Your small brain now has wandered away with those few words," Aurora laughed as Rey's lips twitched.

He looked at Aurora who had gotten lost again. She closed her eyes and smiled. Rey was now doubting his brain. He had always been with them most of the time. But there were times he had not been with them... Had they been... How had they also managed to keep him in the dark for such a long time.

Was this what Aurora was waiting for Alaric to wake up and tell him. Could she not just spill it out. And how long had they thought they could hide it from him. He was going to teach him a lesson after he told him about it. It was now not a secret for he had caught up with it. There was no suspense for they would be explaining to him what he already knew.

If Aurora knew his thoughts, she would confirm that he really had a small brain. Rey stood up and tightened his shoes laces.

"I will be heading back. And am not leaving you," Rey said to Aurora who raised her head and looked at him like he was a fool. No one was going to get her from his side.

"Does your mind have a loose screw?" Aurora asked.

Rey looked at her and had an evil smile on his face.

"Maybe I got one," he said menacingly like a villain.

"Don't do anything stupid," Aurora felt he was about to do something really terrible.

"Am not leaving you," he said and walked to the bed Aurora was sitting.

Aurora let go of Alaric's hand and moved away from Rey who had gotten to the bed. Rey's face was menacing and the evil smile shook her to the core. She did not like what he was about to do. Rey bridged the gap and picked her like a bride.

Aurora let out an unconciuos scream as she tried to fight herself from his grasp but could she? She gave up and let him do as he wished but she did not shut her mouth.

"Put me down now! Alaric will never let you off when he realizes what you are doing," she said as Rey carried her out.

" What do you think he can do to me? Nothing much," Rey said. They left the infirmary and took the path back to the Marshal Pit.

" Do you think I will let you go off that easily?" She asked.

" Nothing you do could hurt me," Rey replied. But he regretted when he felt her teeth biting his ears.

" I am not going to let you go no matter what you do," he said as he grit his teeth.

" That was to teach you a lesson," Aurora said as she crossed her hands on his neck. They disarded the topic and started to talk of other things with a merry tone.

Rey knew exactly what he was doing and so did Aurora but he did not know that he was going to regret it a hundred times today. He walked in to the stadium and they were still talking. Aurora laughed when they entered the stadium and this caught everyone's attention.

The teacher who had been addressing the crowd stopped when she heard them. The atmosphere became tense again when they saw them. Also, they could not miss that she was clutching on his neck and were laughing. Angry stares from four people exceeded the rest.

These four were James, Matthew, Karl and Zeddy. They all had the same thoughts. So the two were part of her harem. When one was gone, she would exploit the other one. They had been planning for four months now. The night was going to be the day they got rid of the two. They had decided not to spare Rey despite his background.

They had gathered enough information and allies and they were surely going to accomplish their mission. They clenched their fists and jaws. They were going to allow them to have their short lived happiness before they separated them.

They also had acquired information that that Alaric guy had gotten into an accident and his probability of healing was 0%. Their mission had gotten a lot easier all of a sudden. Alaric had been their greatest threat but with him eliminated, Rey was going to be just a walk in the park to get rid off.

They could just embarras him so much that he would wish that the ground opened and swallowed him. They were very eager to get rid of him and then leave Aurora for them to bet on. Their previous bet had ended with all of them failing to make her talk to them.

They were going to see how long she could ignore them when they got rid of her puppets. The sick guy was going to be an easy kill at night when everyone was asleep. Even with all the plan, they still felt their anger rise when they saw them.

They watched as he let her go and walked back to his seat. They saw him go back to his seat on the back. They watched as she went to take her seat next to her friends. They looked at the girl sitting next to him and got the perfect scheme.

"Where were you?" Her friends asked her. She smiled but they seemed angry.

"Are you playing harem now?" Her other friend asked. Aurora was confused. What were they talking about?

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Don't play dumb. Now that you boyfriend is sick, you decide to opt for his friend as an alternate option," the first girl said.

Aurora almost choked on her own breath and saliva.

"Who said he is my boyfriend?" She asked.

"Now you are going to pretend infront of us too?"

" How long did you think you could hide it from us?"

" Or he is just a friend?"

He friends bombarded her with questions as she felt her jaw drop.

"They are my friends. You both know that. Also, is it bad for friends to give each other a lift?" She asked her friends.

" Our innocent princess became a play girl, we lost one."

Aurora's female friends were of her exact height and were both relatives of hers. The one on her right was Jane. Jane had brown hair and her eyes were brown. She was also a princess but was a grand princess. She was the granddaughter of the first prince. She was a light and wood elementalist. She was the one who had spoken first.

The other girl was Lisa. She was also a granddaughter. She was the granddaughter of the second prince. She had blue eyes and hair. She was the same age as Aurora and her elements were blue lightning and wood.

They had all been sent to Origin Academy rather than the Royal Academy.

Royal academy as the name suggested was only for those with royal bloodline coursing through their veins. The reasons they had come to Origin Academy was because the three hated Royal Academy. They had been persuaded to join it but they had refused blatantly.

Though it was agreed upon, they were looked down on by the royals for choosing a mediocre academy to study.

"Jane you know that I would never hide anything from you two. They are just friends," she said.

" I don't remember when you spent your night next to my bed when I was sick," Lisa cut in.

" Exactly. We have been friends for as long as we can remember but you never spent a night sleeping on the the bed when we were sick. Or are we not worth it?" Jane asked.

Aurora was caught in a trap. There was no way she could get out of the trap without accepting the facts laid infront of her.

" Okay, fine. You won. He is not just a friend but Rey is only a friend." Aurora said shyly. Her friends giggled when they heard her answer.

" Just accepting simple facts turned out to be that hard to you," Jane still giggled. Aurora felt embarrassed and her cheeks were red.

" So if he is not just a friend, what is he?" Lisa dropped the bombshell.

Aurora felt like burrying her face in the ground. She covered her face with her hand and bent to lean on her lap.

"Ooh..." Jane jested.

"She is shy to talk about him. What is wrong with her?" Lisa asked with the same tone.

" She has been in love with him for long. She is missing her lover."

" I now understand why she ran away."

" She thought that something had happened to him."

" You should have seen how happy she was when she saw the lightning."

" Is he awake now?"

Aurora's face had turned from red to redder. She could not lift her head. There was no way she could face them. She felt a hand on her hair and pull it. She rose her head and saw it was Lisa. She had an amused smile on her face.

"Won't you tell us about your love?" Lisa asked.

"He is not..." She rose her voice and felt some glares at her. She realized what she had done and felt her hands sweaty. "... Yet." She completed with a whisper.

"She just admitted!" Jane exclaimed.

"So he is going to be soon," Lisa asked.

"Could you please leave the topic?" Aurora was fighting a losing battle and she knew it. She was going through torture and her friends knew exactly what they were doing to her.

"So you still not attending the party because he is not yet awake?" Lisa asked.

" I should have known he was the reason. No wonder," Jane said like someone who had discovered a secret.

" He usually does not attend but he had promised that he would be attending this time. I was looking forward to that but he is in that condition because of me. It would not be fair if I attended when he is not there after risking his life to save me. Had he not risked his life, we both would have been dead. I owe him that much," Aurora said calmly.

" You never spoke about what happened that day. Do you plan to tell us about it?" Lisa asked but Aurora shook her head.

" You know there are things I never talk about. This has also gotten into the list. I don't think I can manage to recount the events without my heart breaking down." She said and her friends nodded.

They both knew of her trauma and the effect it had on her. They even respected her for two years after such a traumatic experience she had managed to pull herself out and join the academy. She also had been doing a good job putting a smile despite the pain she had burried in her heart.

The first time they had seen her change and put on a honest smile was when she met Alaric. Also, she had gotten a carefree attitude when she joined their group. The day she had gone to that mission she had been happy. But when she came back, they thought that she would fall back into depressed and put back the fake smile.

It had happened and they thought that they had lost her again until today when she left running and came back laughing. She appeared happy and she had put on a honest smile again. She also had confessed to them something she never had. They loved this version of her that got shy when they jested about her.

"Do not blame yourself. That was his choice and he knew what he was doing," Lisa soothed her. She was glad that she had opened up slightly to them which she usually did not.

They did not even realize that all eyes were on them now. All was silent such that the last words were heard by everyone. They felt the gazes on them and looked around to see all eyes were on them. What had transpired?
