Chapter 60. Birds

Alaric's mind was working on overdrive. He knew that there was no time. He aso had successfully managed to anger the hedgehog. His eyes never leaving Aurora who like an obedient child was still sitting in his prescribed position.

The hedgehog had decided to take another risk. It was going to be left defenseless but it was going to kill two birds with one stone. It was going to be a painful experience but what mattered most was the end results which it sure was going to get satisfied with.

Alaric was almost thirty meters away from Aurora and the hedgehog had not moved a single step and was still twenty meters away. Realizing what was going to happen next, he flashed at top speed and when he was twenty five meters away from Aurora, the hedgehog released its attack.

All thorns on its body shot out at blinding speed which could be equivalent if not less than that of Alaric's at the moment. Almost thousands of thorns like arrows shot in all directions from the hedgehog. Alaric knew there was no saving both of them in this one attack.

He was now forcing his legs to move in a speed he could not manage yet. He could feel his legs would break if he did not stop but could he? The thorns were going to approximately take a second to land on her. He had to go in a slightly faster speed than the arrrows in order to save her.

He was five meters behind the thorns and his legs were going to give in at any moment. He did not care as he forced his body to the limits, concentrating every bit of energy to his leg. He also used the wind element to improve his speed and help reduce the friction in the air.

He could feel that the thorns were now ten meters away and he was thirteen meters away.

'Still not fast enough!' He screamed in his mind as he did something incomprehensible. His speed shot up and exceeded that of the thorns. At the moment, the thorns were five meters away and he was six meters away.

Realizing that it was working, he proceeded with the insane idea. He used all the electricity produced by the impulses of the brain and used it to charge his speed. Due to his fast processing speed, the electric power produced by his brain was almost ten times that of the general public.

Though it was working, he was losing conciousness. In order to maintain conciousness, he had to process a lot of things but his conciousness was slowly drifting away. By two meters, they were together on the same distance and he reached her before the arrows.

He skidded on his legs as he hugged her and burried her head in his chest completely shielding her from the thorns. It took almost five seconds before all the thorns stopped. All was still and the only sound that could be heard was the beating of two hearts.

One was beating normal and was starting to accelerate while the other was slowing down significantly. Alaric pulled himself from her and cupped her cheeks that could almost fit in his palms. He still had a smile on his face knowing that his sacrifice had paid off.

The last thing he saw was her face that appeared to change slightly. As he fell unconcious or maybe dead, he knew that he had done great damage on his body that was going to take long to heal.

But also he knew that the hedgehog would probably run away after that attack and Aurora would be safe until the effect of the psychedelic died down. That was his last thought before he completely blanked out.

The hedgehog appeared to be naked without its thorn but it still felt that it had killed two birds with one stone. It was glad and it fell on the floor with a thud to take a rest and calm itself from the pain.

Something was happening in Alarics and Aurora's body. It was the dual cultivation technique Sarah had given to Alaric. The time Aurora was messing around with Alaric's restless man, and had come in his pants, at the moment, Sarah had initiated the technique.

The process was long fetched but all requirments had been met and the technique had been working on them unaware and was sped up when they kissed though just their lips touched. The moment Alaric finished fighting the hedgehog, the technique had worked on Aurora and was now fully integrated!

After the technique fully integrated, she felt the last bottlenecks stopping her from getting to the Second Stage break as she broke into the Second Stage and filled two meridians of the Second Stage. She did not understand how but she guessed that Alaric probably had done something.

The moment the hedgehog released the thorns as arrows, the psychedelic in her body was being fully eradicated. The moment he shielded her from the arrows, the psychedelic had been eradicated. She heard them hit the walls and some landed on his body.

She was tight in his embrace and could not wriggle herself from him. Also, she was still tired and could not yet summon her elements. She could feel him move whenever the arrows struck his back but he did not let out a single sound.

His breathing remained unperturbed but she could feel his heart beat slower than the second before every time. His hands were shaky as he cupped her cheeks and his eyes never changing like he did not feel any pain from the impact.

She saw him move his lips but he did not let out a single word. She saw his smile bright as his eyelids closed. He lost control and fell on her shoulder. She wanted to hug him but she was pierced by one thorn in his back on her hand forcing her to retract it.

It was then that she saw what had happened to him and her anger rose and her heartbeat increased as panic and uncertainty overwhelmed her. What if he died? On his body were almost a hundred thorns. On his back were the most.

One could think that he was the hedgehog for his back was almost fully covered with the thorns. Blood dripped from the points of impact. On his biceps were more thorns and some seemed to have pierced one side and gotten out through the other.

He was smiling like it was nothing but she was pained. He was losing almost 500mls of blood every passing second. If this continued, he was going to die of blood loss in a minute. There was no way he could have thirty litres of blood in him.

Aurora had to do something quick or he was going to die. Removing the thorns would only speed up the blood loss. She grit her teeth and decided to cover his body with ice. She did so and stood up with the ice statue kneeling next to her. Her vision seemed to be blurry due to both tears and rage.

She was not going to spare the hedgehog. Now that she was in the second stage, she was going to make sure to destroy it. She stared at the hedgehog and studied it. She came to realize that he had already blinded it which made it even easier for her.

Also, just like any other beast, the hedgehog was foolish and had tried to kill two birds with a single stone by taking a risk. It was now laying on the floor content with its actions. It had almost managed to kill one bird with the stone. If it knew that it had failed, it would start running away.

As vulnerable as it was, even a person without any cultivation could easily kill it let alone a person in the second stage. It skin was as soft as a cotton and even a blunt knife could cut it. Aurora knew all this and she stood infront of the statue.

Having failed yo kill the second bird and only hurting the first bird, it was going to die in the hands of the second bird. Aurora opened her eyes and her purple eyes shone with a white light. She was going to end this.

"ICE CARNAGE : FIRST FORM," she said with a whisper.

The surroundings started cooling down and so did the water turn to ice. The water the hedgehog was laying on froze and it was stuck. It had been laying peacefully after its hard earned victory and had let down its guard. It knew that the two birds were dead.

It tried to stand but without balance, it failed miserably and its thoughts scattered. It failed to try to break the ice and just surrendered to its fate.

An inscrition lit up above Aurora in five seconds and the sword materialized from it. The sword separated to form hundreds of small swords which shot at the hedgehog. They pierced through its skin and sliced its head off the body.

Other swords dissipated after piercing the hedgehog. Aurora did not bother to unfreeze the water as she went back to Alaric but she stopped instantly. He mind was flooded with memories of what had happened and her body came to a stand still.

Her whole body turned crimson to the toe and she was unable to look at him. Her face became even more of a tomato when she remembered what she had done to him and also when she felt his enlarged cock.

She remembered it between her curves and she pinched herself to wake up. She had to take him back for treatment. She looked at the frozen statue and started dragging it on the floor. She turned the water to ice on the way so that she could easily pull him.

She rested for several minutes on her way and it took her approximately 48 hours to find her way to the exit. She could only commend him for bringing them that far. Also, it was due to him and his sacrifice that they had won.

Now that she thought about it, she remembered how he had let himself get beaten up just inorder to land a single hit on the hedgehog. Also, his attacks were well versed and only landed to where they could do the most damage.

She was standing before the ladder but the question was how she was going to get him to the top. She also did pnot know how long it had been since they entered the tunnels. She also regretted the fact that she had turned into a burden for him and he was forced to protect her.

She blamed herself for being weak and promised to work harder and improve her cultivation in order to never become a burden to him that needed to be shielded always. To stand at the peak with him, she was going to have to be stronger than rest of the women.

Aurora steeled her mind and started climbing the steps. She was going to find someone to help drag him out and she would pay them.
