After a few hours had passed, and after he assured his sister that he would most likely arrive back in a year, he set off.
Mount Huaguo where Frost Manor was located, had rivers in the east and south, and west was where there was a massive forest that seemed to never end.
If one went straight to the east path, they would need to cross rivers and small towns and cities to go into the main capital. South led one back to the river but there was no way to go through it.
Wukong departed the Huaguo Mountain and headed towards a western direction. The west of the Land consisted of further mountains and a massive Forest. Further ahead of him was the Eternal forest. Wukong decided to go up the western mountains and forests and traverse beyond them to reach the infamous Eternal Mountain. He chose this route to temper himself, and thus gain benefits for his cultivation.
He did this as he had read in the book, [101 Ways To Temper Yourself] That to go to the mountain range of Mount Eternal was great for increasing battle experience and strength as there were plenty of beasts to fight.
What he had on his back was a simple bag, filled with four sets of clothes, some weights and it also had a few maps, so that I wouldn't get lost in the wild, and even though he had everything he needed he still felt unprepared.
As he walked towards the western mountains, he was ceaselessly complaining to himself again. "Ahh I hate this crappy backpack, it's not fair I mean to get a storage ring and activate it you need a Cultivation Level at the Bronze Level, it's not fair!"
....
After Fifteen minutes had gone by, Wukong had finally reached the bottom of the western mountains! With the shit backpack on his back, Wukong chose a path up the mountains.
The mountainous region nearby Mount Huaguo was filled with danger. The wild beasts did not pose a threat to him, but if he ran into a beast of the Phantom Grade, that would prove to be an entirely different matter.
Wukong knew that cultivators who only chose to live a safe and stable life when compared to ones who treaded the perilous way, would be akin to a vegetable compared to a Rock.
Those who did not enter battle would not be able to go far in the long run of Cultivation and they wouldn't be able to achieve Immortality! That was precisely why Wukong decided to head to the Eternal Mountains! He wanted to gain battle experiences, and at the same time temper his state of mind and find an opportunity to break through!
Every day, other than spending his time in cultivating the AE abilities, Wukong would briefly study the contents of some books. Currently, the only book which he was fully immersed in understanding its contents was the [Continental Difference Between Vegetation].
....
Only when Wukong arrived at the foot of the Eternal Mountains, did he truly know the true meaning of the word "Huge". In his line of sight, as far as his eyes could see, the surrounding region was filled with majestic peaks and mountains, seemingly endless and eternal in stature.
When Wukong had seen these mountain peaks he was awed in his entirety, never before had he felt so intimidated and so fragile, yes the sights of these vast green plains and peaks made him feel fear and scarce in front of the power of Nature.
It was like he was being forced to submit his inferiority towards the huge, huge black peak of the mountains. Nearby him was a small stream that had translucent green water, and it was bunting with fishes as they merrily danced through the cyan steam of water.
At this instant, a light breezy mountain wind begin to rise and blew past Wukong. As it was the summer season now, the light mountain wind was a welcome change to alleviate the heat of the summer sun.
Wukong begin traversing the mountain path by executing the Phantom Steps! He wanted to cultivate it to the point where he could unconsciously execute each step with the minimum amount of strength and steps required.
And in a Whoosh he was gone, the ability 'Phantom Steps' was akin to light teleportation within Combat and travel and so it was very useful.
....
Six days had passed, and in this period of time, Wukong did not know exactly how far he traversed within the Eternal Mountain Range. He only knew that he climbed over seven mountains and ate over about 6 Phantom grade beasts.
And out of these 6 beasts, there was a particular fight with a Vlailosian Energy Triceratops that filled him with energy and boosted his strength, and while fighting his blood was boiling in ecstasy.
Initially, He was a bit nervous to be facing against such an opponent. The Vlailosian Energy Triceratops had a body size of 8m in height and 18m in length! So I bet your all wondering how! would he be able to fight on equal grounds with it?
To clash directly with it was pure and unrefined Battle madness! In terms of body size, there was no way Wukong would be comparable to it, thus Wukong had no choice but to temporarily retreat.
Although the Triceratops was colossal in size, and it's skin was as strong as 60 BP, But there was no hindrance to its movements! And it had such speed that one wouldn't have expected it, its muscles also flowed together in perfect harmony as the Triceratops sped over towards Wukong, causing tremors that shook the ground with each step it took.
Taking measure of his opponent and his own strength, Wukong knew that the current him did not have the power to completely injure this beast and he knew If he wanted to win this battle, then he had to use his wits instead!
And he started by advancing forward in the guise of retreat, by using the Phantom Steps, Wukong had led the Vlailosian creature through a series of wild movements before strategically baiting and hooking it to a point near the cliff.
Using his speed and dexterity, Wukong executed the Phantom Steps to dodge the killing blow unleashed by the Triceratops, and instantly teleported away.
A moment later, he appeared behind the Triceratops and with his full explosive strength, he threw a fist aiming at one of its massive hind legs, succeeding in his attempt to push the elephant off the cliff.
"CRACKLE!!!" The sound of bones breaking echoed out as the Vlailosian beast plummeted with a tragic cry filled with rage and misery!
After a glance at the giant corpse at the foot of the mountains, Wukong stared dumbly at his own hands, even though he had a strength of 30 BP, it still took the entirety of his strength to deliver the killing blow to the beast.
And soon enough a smile broke out on his face as hints of tyrannical victory filled his heart. So this was how the ruler of the forest felt like. By using his own strength and wits, he had caused the Triceratops to be smashed beyond recognition!
This fight had made Wukong appreciate the Ability Extractor even more… If he had cultivated using normal methods, the strength gained from them would pale in comparison to the Ability Extractor and his defeat towards the Triceratops would be
unquestionable, and predetermined.
The Ability Extractor was undoubtedly the strongest strengthening ability, and when cultivated to its zenith the Cultivation of just his body would be comparable even to the Saints and the Demons!
After he had finished complimenting the Ability Extractor, a giant tall and winged creature had blotted out the sun in front of him, and only then did he realise about the winged creature.
It was huge, and zoomed down towards him as it covered out the sun while rapidly descending towards him, and with each flap of its wings, it generated a terrible wind force causing innumerable vegetation to be wiped out in an instant.
When Wukong had seen the giant creature, immediately he poured Qi into his legs as to stay balanced on top of the cliff, and immediately he charged up Qi in his fists.
What Wukong was currently doing was combining his abilities together to form the, the Green Blazes Of Destruction stortenened to 'Green Blaze' and it had the ability of using the Paralyse Touch, Toxic Touch and the Blaze Flames.
And currently around his waist his fists were clenched down while he poured in his Extractor Qi, to his metacarpals so that his Jade Green Blaze could form in the palm of his hands.
After it was ready and while the beast was zooming down, immediately Wukong began shooting out his Jade Green Blaze Fist Projectiles, towards the colossal beast, in hopes of it distracting the beast and injuring it slightly, after this the Phantom stepped away.
"... Bang!"
"... FWOOSH!!"
"... Boom!!!"
Wukong knew that his attacks at most would only injure the avian creature, and so he was trying to launch his projectiles towards towards the critical points of the winged creatures bodies such as its joints and heart.
And his Fist projectiles did indeed hit but they had missed the heart but it did make the beast bleed out which was good I guess. His attacks soared through the sky with such speed it was as if they had broken the sound barrier.
"... Eeek!!" A shrilling sound rang out from the beasts mouth alerting Wukong of his success at the attack, and soon fragments of rage and embarrassment formed in the eyes of the winged creature as it stared at Wukong in pain.
....
Currently Wukong was far away from the beast as he had already Phantom stepped away in a tactical retreat, and as he was in a safe place he started to glimpse at the beast as to find out what it was. He saw when inspected that it was a Late Vlailosian Pterosaur and its wingspan was about 12 meters.
And it looked like a cross between a Nyctosaurus Pterosaur and a Tapejaridae Pterosaur. Its wings were curved into sharp hollow bony flags, as they flapped forward for Wukong.
Since that time Lucia explained the beasts within the world, Wukong did some light research on the beasts in general, and also on the descriptions of the various beasts that inhabited this world.
He remembered reading in the books he researched previously that the Late Vlailosian Pterosaurs were prone to nursing grudges against another being often. And with the injuries that Wukong caused it to suffer it had already determined that Wukong would die.
Other than the injury Wukong had caused the Pterosaurs pride was also hurt! And from the cold and evil glint in the Late Vlailosian Pterosaur's eyes, he knew that the Pterosaur would never give up on him, not unless one of them died. It was just waiting for an opportunity now to catch him off his guard.
Soon the Pterosaur had arrived near him and at this point Wukong started to charge up his Qi for some more projectile attacks, and when the avian saw this it quickly cowered back as it was scared it would get injured on the same place again.
Earlier in that exchange, the Pterosaur could feel an unnatural strength infused in the Qi attack that injured it. And now that it knew of Wukong' strength, it did not want to rush in blindly and possibly suffer injuries or death due to a moment of its impulse!
In these six days Wukong hadn't seen any flying creatures in the east of the mountains, possibly due to this pterosaur being the leader of this area. And despite its huge size, it seemed to be like a fish in water when it was in the air.
There was no deterrence to its speed! ;the aura emitted from it was savage beyond control, it possessed herculean strength, it's reptile claws could also split the mountains and crush rocks.
There was also the pair of jet black hollow wings it had that were curved beyond recognition with great wind power, being struck by it would be akin to disintegrating into piles of dust, and being torn to shreds by the massive wind power.
Wukong was somewhat nervous, but he was not afraid. Not being able to gain victory today would only mean that it was his fate or karma to die here.
"If I can't even prevail against a single phantom beast that can flap its wings then why am I still alive? The promise I made to Lucia were all just words filled with no gas?"
What Wukong was wondering was how would he defeat this flying beast, as he was wondering the beast in the sky was doing air-doughnuts, as if trying to taunt Wukong at his powerlessness.
It appeared that the Pterosaur was trying to ripple the waters, as if a test. Circling closer and soaring out of reach.
This continued on for quite some time before it apparently decided to go all in. With a burst of speed akin to lightning, it finally flew towards Wukong.
And when he saw this he didn't hesitate and immediately he leaped up in the air with his right Fist filled with his Green Blazes Of Destruction, as it helped him stabilise his direction in the air and so far both him and the bird were both opposite each other as they had the same acceleration force.
With one hand aiming straight for the winged creature while his legs were together he plunged towards the Pterosaur, the same could be said for the Beast as it put out its beak as if to nip Wukong in the bud before he becomes a true problem.
And his thoughts were, he can't die here in the middle of nowhere. If he's dead, what'll happen to his sister? She would be lost of support, her only family taken away from her. Just imagining that scene happening hurt more than getting killed by the beast.
"Klang!!"
"... Bang!!"
"... Crack!!!"
At the moment of impact the sound emitted was as if two swords clashed together in absolute fury and desperation, with only madness remaining as the attack became a double edged sword towards both Wukong and the Pterosaur.
And in the clash between him and the beast, he clenched his Fist as he brought both his fists up towards the winged creatures chest, and his body was constantly emitting Qi to strengthen himself so he could use the attack as a cushion and avoid injury for the most part, it worked.
His Fist had gone straight through the winged reptiles chest and abdomen creating a glaring hole in its chest, as blood was constantly being emitted throughout the reptiles mouth, in pain and dizziness.
But Wukong did get injured, as the beak of the Pterosaur and its sharp hollow bony wings had pierced Wukong in both the chest and his biceps on both arms, the beak had gone through his chest as all one could see through it was broad daylight.
And after this mutual destruction attack both the Pterosaur and Wukong had injured themselves critically, and the two both fell at high speeds towards the mountains and Waterfalls, while falling because they had nothing to increase their surface area by, the twos air resistance and friction force kept on increasing as soon they had reached a terminal velocity, a constant speed downward.
